This is the talkback thread for David Spade and TBS at Work on "Joe Dirt" Animated Series (http://news.toonzone.net/articles/32479/david-spade-and-tbs-at-work-on-joe-dirt-animated-series).

Wow, talk about this coming out of nowhere. That makes three animated shows coming to the network. This show can either be funny or not. Depends if you liked the movie.

How long ago did Joe Dirt come out? It would have made more sense to do it back then instead of waiting until now when most people have forgotten about the movie's existence.

I loved David Spade in The Emperor's New Groove, but I don't think the same style of humor will carry on to this production. I'll give it a shot at least since he's pretty funny to watch.

Why wasn't that horrible movie bad enough? Does it really need a series? No it does not.

I remember Spade was quoted a few years ago as saying Joe Dirt is one of WalMart's top selling DVDs of all time.

I think he was trying to get a sequel off the ground back in 2006/2007, perhaps this animated series was what the sequel came to be?

I dont think people have forgotten about it. TBS and Comedy Central have replayed that movie like a hundred times. I swear every time I have tiem to kill like on a sunday or whatever I'm just channel surfing I see it on one of those networks. Who knows maybe the raitings on TBS for that movie was so good for them to consider it?

I think its odd as well but hey they had to think this was a good idea some how and thats really the only explanation I can think of.
