In a recent twitter statement from cyborgturkey he mentioned that they have starting writing season 5. So as we know it has a date of November 7th. They started writing on January 11th.
The last season? I can only assume it's because Seth wants it to end, since ratings would make cancellation foolhardy.

It's odd that they would end it. There's always more stuff to parody.

Isn't RC Adult Swim's highest rated original?
Why would they let it end?

Yes, it is. However, if Seth wants to end the show on his terms, then I don't really see the problem here.

well it seems that it will be the last season. I just can't see it going passed season 5.

Also, keep in mind that the show will likely be reaching its 100th episode by the time the season comes to an end. If it is indeed going to end in its fifth season, it's better for Robot Chicken to end before it begins to become stale (i. e. the Simpsons).

Don't they work in a joke every season about them being canceled?

Same here. It's Seth's show, and if he's ready to move on, it's his prerogative to end it if he so chooses to.
Honestly, I think I'd rather see it end while it's still kind of good. The skits haven't really packed quite the same punch since season 3; IMHO, season's 1 and 2 were the best. I'd rather Robot Chicken end while it's still kind of funny than see it drag on and get progressively worse and worse.
-I kind of wish the Aqua Teen Hunger Force team would follow suit and also call it a series; the episodes haven't really been all that good once they got past the shows with the 'Spacecataz' openings.
If anything, Seth and co. probably want to focus more on Titan Maximum.

Well, it looks like the fifth definitely won't be the last season:

IMO Seasons 1 and 2 were great, 3 was a bit too vulgar, but 4 was one of the best ones. I`m looking forward to future seasons, as it and Aqua teen are probably the last remaining 15 minute AS originals I like, since metalocalypse is now 1/2 hour.

I'm glad Robot Chicken is signed on for two more episodes, it's a good show (usually) that deserves some more time on Adult Swim, my only concern is that season 4 was not nearly as funny as seasons 1-3 and I fear the creative team may be getting a tad bit lazy and this will show even more so on seasons 5 and 6. I sure hope not. In any event, I am still glad to see that we will be getting two more seasons of this show, and I'm sure more fans of Adult Swim would agree because it just wouldn't feel like Adult Swim without Robot Chicken floating aound it's schedule.
