Anyone else out that can't wait for the Spider-Man movie to come out? How well do you think the movie will do?

I think the movie could end up grossing close to $300 million dollars. Whether you are a comic fan or not, you know who Spider-Man is. He's one of the most easily recognizable icons, right up there with Superman and Batman. This will easily be one of the biggest movies of the summer, right up there with STAR WARS EP2.

I can't wait for this movie! I would rather see Spider-Man over Star Wars. I'm not much of a Star Wars fan.

May is going to be a good month for movies, that's for sure.

I think Spiderman can easily do as well as X-Men did, but it's going to have to have a very strong first few weeks, because there will be some strong competition once Episode 2 comes out.

I really can't wait for this movie! I've been a Spidey fan for as long as I can remember, and it's really great to see him get the big screen treatment.

Was Spider-Man ever in a movie before?

Depends if you count the Nick Hammond TV movies - did any of them get a theatrical release? It was the craze for cheapish TV series at the time, however I have a feeling Spider Man wasn't so lucky...

I'm going to see spiderman and star wars. both look awesome and should go very well in the theaters

300 million sounds reasonable for both.

expect nothing to do well in June (does scooby doo ring a bell).

These two movies will be #1 and #2 until the next Lord of the rings movie come out, or when they leave the theater

Well, i can't wait till Spider-man comes out or star wars ep.2. It kindda bad spider-man didn't get out as early as it was going to, but they had a good reason, so i'm not complaining. :D

Are Spider-Man's webs going to be organic in the movie? I don't really care if they are, but I've read a few thing about fans getting mad over it.

Some fans are ballistic over the thoughts of organic webbing. Personally, I like the idea, it's sort of ingenious. He has to learn to control this aspect of his character as well, something extremely difficult to do. There's a gigantic feud going on at the Spider-Man Hype! Boards about how the webbing shouldn't be organic, but it does make sense. Here is a link to the discussion, which goes on, and on, and on, and on. And then on some more.

Hmm, I'm not really opposed to the organic webbing, but is there any specific reasons why they decided to make the webbing organic? I don't see what difficulties using cartridges would cause.

The only bad part I can see is that we prolly wont see Petey run out of webbing mid-fight or mid-flight. Not that it has any huge bearings, but I always like it when it happens, b/c it forces Spidey to rely on his instincts and thinking.

Boy gets bitten by radioactive spider and gains spider power, and now knows formula to make spider webs, or boy gets bitten by radioactive spider, gets spider powers, and organic web shooters forms in his wrists?

Well, I suppose organic may make more sense (depending on who you ask), but cartridges are years and years of history. Unless there were some kind of technical issues involved, I don't see why Raimi would bother to change from cartridges to organic in the first place.
