Both episodes were very good, but they should have just made Chuck a spy from the getgo. Right now the show is pretty much the same as before. Hopefully they'll start shaking things up very soon. Especially with the arrival of Brandon Routh (Superman) and Kristen Kreuk (Lana Lang).

I enjoyed both episodes, but they managed to get things back to the status quo rather conveniently. However, I was sort of surprised that Buster Bluth Emmett Milbarge actually got killed. I just wish that this whole thing with Chuck and Sarah would get resolved so that they can focus more on the spy stuff, but I know that’s not going to happen.

Aaaaaand....Julia Ling is out of the main title. Just as I feared.
One finger for you, Josh Schwartz. One finger.
I've only watched the first one so far but it was good nonetheless. I can sympathize with Chuck pretty well as it is, but the loss of Anna put me in the right depressed mood to watch a dark episode.
.....And Big Mike's gone too? Crud, I want my hilarious Buy More escapades! It's not a party without everyone!

Wow, just what I feared. Not only did they break up Sarah/Chuck but they turned both of them into characters that I hardly even knew. I'm not too happy with this guys

Big Mike was in the second episode (and i thought he quit the Buy More last season, what gives?).

Saw the second one. Sarah's suit-up sequence was the most shameless thing I've seen the show do. No subtlety there.
Now I'm worried Ellie is going to become the next Anna -- her position as someone to talk to at home is now replaced by Morgan, and there's not much else for her character to do other than talk to Awesome. This show could become, in the words of Jeff, "a sausage fest." Boo to that.
Big Mike is indeed back....with no explanation....okay, whatever.
Sometimes putting Casey in an awkward situation is funnier than doing it to Chuck, as he hates it even more.
Seriously, Buy More needs a pretty Asian girl to counterbalance all the testosterone 'round there.

I was also pretty happy with both episodes. I wasn't blown away or anything, but it makes me want to come back for more each week.

I'm behind, but I want to get all caught up on Chuck before Monday's new episode. It's nice to have this show back sooner than expected. Hopefully it will perform well this season. I hope to watch the third hour tomorrow before the new episode.
I too noticed that Anna was missing from the credits and while I was disappointed by that, if her removal from the regular cast was part of what helped save the show (as in the money saved) I can begrudgingly be in favor of it.
While two separate episodes, these two had a good arc with Chuck first rejecting Sarah (in some ways) and then showing his true feelings both about being a spy and then about about her.
I was surprised that Emmet was shot by Javier, but at the same time, that is what a guy like that would do when he's insulted. He was willing to walk away, but he's not going to let someone like that insult him. It brought Big Mike back which I am happy about.
The new Intersect gave Chuck a big upgrade! I like the concept of how he has to be able to control it in order for it to work. If he didn't, it would just be too easy. I don't know that I would say we are back at square one. Chuck now has the abilities to be a real spy, whereas before he was there just be the "identity check" computer. Now it is about Sarah & Casey teaching him how to use those abilities. He has the tools to be a spy, but he needs the mentality or at least a stronger control over his emotions.
I like Vinnie Jones in the second hour and I had forgotten about Carina Miller the DEA Agent so it was cool seeing her again.

Big Mike is indeed back....with no explanation....okay, whatever.Big Mike clearly said he had been given another opportunity to run the store and then gave the speech about wearing his Sunday best and all the words the Japanese have for yes. Where were you two? ;)
