Hope everyone else enjoyed their fireworks. I had a blast. My hometown is just big enough that the city govt can afford a pretty decent display. Even better, fireworks are totally legal here, and cuz we've still got a kind of "Wild West" mentality everyone goes nuts buying the biggest and showiest stuff they can lay their hands on. For the past 2 weeks every grocery store has had a massive open-air pavillion in their parking lot selling fireworks, and wherever there was a vacant field by the side of the road a fireworks stand sprang up.

So just after sunset everyone starts shooting off their stuff and we get a great display for about an hour. Everything then stops for 20-30 minutes while the city shoots off its really big stuff, and then the private stuff starts up again for another hour or so. So we had about a 2 1/2 to 3 hour show all over the city. I got together with some friends, and we were constantly turning around and around because there was always something big going off.
