What was your favorite cereal growing up that isn't being made any more? I guess I am thinking of cereals based on TV shows, movies, whatever, cereals that were made for a limited time but that you wished they would have kept on making because they were better than most of the stuff out there?

I liked C-3POs cereal, based on the Star Wars droid, of course. I devoured that stuff like it was going out of style...and it did.

Craker Jacks ceral was the best, tho. I thought it was VERY good, but they didn't make it for long.

Batman cereal was good. My mom (ever the pack rat of collectibles...gee, that must be where I get it from!) still has a box or two of the cereal shrink wrapped with the free Batman bank on it. Heck, she should sell those bad boys on E Bay!

Ralston was all the time coming out with licensed cerals, too, but most of them were not as good as some others.

I am sure if I thoght more, I could think of several others, but those are the ones I still wish they would make.

:D Just kidding. Obscure cereal huh? Well... I've always liked Corn Pops. But they're not obscure. Though I'd dare anyone to find a box that contained nutritional value.:D "Crispix" are good too. They are a ripoff of "Chex," but they kick but on "Chex" anyway.

I don't eat cereal anymore. Lactose intolerant. (seriously)

Seinfeld: "I don't like lactose and I won't stand for it."

Quisp was cool, tho my local grocery store doesn't carry it, but you can order it over the net, which I just might do. Anybody remember Quisp? With the little alien with the propellar on his head? GREAT CEREAL!

Boo Berry. It tastes great, and he was able to thwart Chocula and Frankenberry's attempts at theft at the same time. Obviously the greatest one of the monster cereals. Heh heh.

I just tried Quisp for the first time last year, it is fantastic. I have only been able to get it twice, but I recently found out about some Star Markets in nearby Boston that sell it, so I might be able to pick it up some more soon.

When you eat too much, you definitely know what they mean when they say it's full of "Quazy energy." It makes me act pretty quazy, all right.

Boo Berry rocked. Is anybody here old enough to remember that monster cereal that was the multi fruit flavored? I can't remember the monster they used for that, but I liked that alot when I was a kid, then they stopped making it. For a while, they stopped making all the monster cereals but now I see they are out again. I will have to go and buy some Boo Berry now!

I actually always disliked the taste of most kiddie cereals, but I was really fond of the character of Quisp. As I recall, comic strip stories were included on the back of the box. And didn't Quisp have a friend whose name also began with a Q? Never ate the cereal, but loved to read the boxes.

I used to love the commercials for Gremlins cereal. "Gremlins, Gremlins, take a bite!" Can't say I ever tried the stuff, though...I'm a cornflake man from way back, though I also like Froot Loops and anything with marshmallows....

Who in here would claim that any of those cereals have any nutritiounous (sp?) value?
To me it seems like the only thing it does is tricking the kids to atleast get a spoonfull of milk once a day...

If I have kids they are NOT gonna eat it everyday...I would say it was ok in the weekends.

I myself ...well I like frootloops and lucky charms...and to everybody here where I live, marshmallows in breakfast food is obscure!!

Rocky Road is one I never heard of. What was in it? It sounds too sweet.

King Vitamin, if memory serves me, was a WIC approved cereal when I worked at the grocery store. And WIC approved cereals were few and far between (goes to show you how many healthy cereals are out there!) so we had to keep plenty of this in supply. Another WIC approved cereal was Critters (I think I have the name right), the cereal shaped like animals, but worse tasting than the card board it came in. We sold cases of that stuff all the time because mothers could get it on WIC.

Mr Ts is one I am surprised I forgot about. Weren't the cereal nuggets shaped like Ts?

Triples...wasn't that like Crispex?

Frutti Mummy. I prefered Frankenberry myself. Unfortunately, the grocery store where my mom shopped never carried it. :(

Man, Fruitti Mummy was the bomb. I wish they'd still make it.

Nutritional. My friend made the same mistake the other day.

I'm surprised that no one's mentioned the Nintendo cereal yet. Hell, I still remember the theme song. "Nintendo, it's for breakfast now. Nintendo, it's a cereal, WOW!"

Wow, that's pathetic.

I also remember eating Slimer-shaped marshmellows, however, I could be mistaken.

That was one of the MANY licensed cereals Ralston put out. I lost track of all the different ones they had, but they had quite a few video game ones.

I always used to make my mother buy the Freakies cereal. Then she would get mad when I wouldn't eat it. It tasted like crap, but it came with awesome stickers.

Yeah! I remember the Ninja Turtle cereal! Shredder would always try to steal it in the commercial for it...and the marshmellows were shaped like the Turtles's weapons....those were the days...

Yeah, it was just like those twinkie commercials and ads. They had something like that on Dexter's Lab one time. It was the "Major Glory fruit pies that you have to be crazy to hate". Pretty funny stuff.

Hostess had cool commercials when I was growing up. Twinkie the Kid rocked. I tried to make an animated GIF of Twinkie the Kid my avatar once, but he was larger than 75x75. Bummer.

Frankenberry
Mr. T

Urkel O's (I dont think I ever ate those, but I heard they were nasty)
Cookie Crisp (A personal favorite...One you could eat without milk)

Spiderman cereal was good even though it was just like TMNT cereal. They should just make a cereal that is all marshmellows! I saw a banner ad for a place called Customcereals.com one time. I'm guessing that they can mix any two types of cereal you want.

That's one for the Simpson's Quote Quiz: Bart: "Damn FDA! Why can't it all be marshmallows!" Lisa: "Bart! Don't put the non-marshmallow bits back in the box, they go in the trash!"

Try puting some candy between two pieces of chocolete. It would probably be close to what the cereal would taste like, just with milk.;)

I used to take the marshmellows out of Lucky Charms, and put them in Captain Crunch.

Waffle Crisp is my favorite healthy cereal, But Count Chocula is my favorite over all. Chocolate is better than blueberry and strawberry.

Do they still make Nestle's Quick -The strawberry powder that you put in milk?
