Twelve-year-old Kyler Spears of Sacramento has won the "Miguzi Make a Monsterpiece" competition, with his design for "Yoke" being chosen out of more than 1,000 entries in the contest to design a new cast member for Cartoon Network's Miguzi animation bloc, the network said today.
<a href="http://news.toonzone.net/images/2005-04/yoke.jpg" target="_blank"><img border="o" src="http://news.toonzone.net/images/2005-04/t-yoke.jpg" alt="Kyle Spears and Yoke" align="right" hspace="5" vspace="3" width="200" height="133"></a>Spears's creation was one of ten chosen by Cartoon Network to compete, and it received more than 6,000 votes out of the half-million votes cast by visitors to the Cartoon Network (http://www.cartoonnetwork.com) website. Yoke will make his Miguzi debut on Monday, May 9, at 5:00pm, alongside cast members Erin, Big Stalks, Flip, Curly, Tre, Remo, Woofer and Tweet.
Spears and his family also won a trip to Atlanta to meet the Miguzi creative team.
"It was so cool to come to Atlanta and meet everyone involved with bringing 'Yoke' to life," said Spears. "I wasn't exactly sure how he would look but the Miguzi team made him look just like I thought he would. This experience has been so much more than I ever thought it would be."
