Patric M. Verrone was elected to head the Writers Guild of America, West (http://www.latimes.com/business/custom/cotown/la-fi-wga21sep21,1,3826678.story?coll=la-headlines-business-enter), winning a 69% majority of 2,012 ballots cast. Verrone's credits include writing for Futurama, Muppets Tonight, and Rugrats. In his campaign, Verrone stated a need to better organize animation, cable, and reality TV writers.
