The New York Times reports on the importance many companies are placing on floats at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (http://www.nytimes.com/2005/11/23/business/media/23adco.html) (registration required). Cartoon characters are a perennial favorite among the floats, and this year's batch will include Scooby Doo, Disney's Chicken Little, Dora the Explorer, the Pillsbury Dough Boy, Garfield, and Puffy Ami Yumi.
