With the recent comment by Bruce Timm on the newspage ("Don't I have enough on my plate, fer pete's sake?! Seriously, I LOVE the JLU characters, thought they turned out pretty *****in', would love to re-visit' em someday, but kinda doubt there'd be enough interest in an actual SERIES...still, who knows..."), saying he'd like to do a JLU series....I was thinking..
I know some of us aren't fans of time-machine/portal stuff, but, what if the JL got caught in one, and were thrown in the future to meet themselves?
Now, the story would the fine-tuned so it'd have more purpose than just meeting themselves, but, the end result would be 2 episodes spot-lighting the JLU, and maybe even an appearance by Batman Beyond (hey, I can dream can't I? :rolleyes: :p ), Thus, filling our need to see the JLU once again.

I have a feeling that the upcoming Darkseid episodes will do something similair to this - based only on Timm's comments that the JLU will be involved with the story (either that or they'll at least be mentioned).

Just like JL rocks, a JLU series would rock too! :D It could have the SAME format as JL, but take place in Batman Beyond's time. (And we could even consider "The Call" the 'pilot movie' for the JLU!)
But, like I've said many times before, I want a minimum of 3 full Seasons of JL, preferably 5 full Seasons (or more, if we're lucky!), before Timm & Co. work on anything else.
But after JL... why not JLU? :D
Besides, even if JLU doesn't have a big enough audience to warrant a TV show, why can't it get its own direct-to-video movie? Imagine that! :p

I hope that even if they aren't going to do a series, they explain a few things that were seen in "The Call". Such as;
How Barda came to live on Earth. It would be good to see an episode focusing on Barda and Scott Free (aka Mr. Miracle). It would be cool if they did an episode about what it was like for Scott Free growing up on apokolips or some such thing.
Also I would like too see why Aquaman is listed as missing. it would be cool to see Aquagirl maybe as a child.
Plus it would be good to see the Fate of the other missing heroes. If Justice League goes for like 5 years then by the last year, they could start wrapping up the storylines for side characters such as Aquaman. Then in the finale tell the fate of the Justice Leaguers. That way if they wanted to have a JLU series at this point it could flow seemlessly between JL and JLU.
It would be good too because it would sort of form a timeline in the DC Animated Universe.

That's an interesting idea, however, I think the JLU connection in the Darkseid episode may be about something briefly about Barda. Maybe it will even have someone giving Batman the kryptonite shown in "The Call" - but that's probably unlikely.
