Why yellow? The color stylist decided one day that Bart should be yellow. Matt Groening said, "This is weird. I like it," so it stayed. Flesh color wouldn't work because there'd be no separation between their head and hair. Plus, the loud colors would make their world surreal. This info comes from the now defunct Simpsons Illustrated.

The simpson's are yellow according to a News 4 report because in 1989, an asteriod composed of sulfur and benzine crystals exploded over the town of springfield and interacted with the raidoactive waste. The inhabitants all were bathed with sulfur vapors.

I find it funny that anybody who passes for A white guy on The Simpsons is yellow, but on Futurama, Fry, and Leela are flesh colored. What's up with that?

Why are they yellow? Simple. Because they aren't blue :D

I guess if they were blue, they would be Smurfs. LOL!

Futurama is the real world 1000 years from now, where The Simpsons is still running on Fox with new episodes.

That would be correct. In Futurama, they encounter tossed away Simpsons toys on that asteroid of drifting trash, so they are obviously in an alernate reality where the Simpsons were on TV instead of being real people in their universe.

And the Simpsons are still on after a THOUSAND YEARS? I dread to think how much those future scripts stink!!!!

That's not the only show to have weird-colored people. There is one very boring show from not too long ago that had people of all kinds of unusual colors.

Well, Hawkings and Nimoy are identical in both Simpsons and the big (minus yellow and adding an occasional digit).. But does the Simpsons belong in the King Of The Hill universe (the Simpson's episode where Homer coaches the school football team has Hank and co. watching from the benches, I recall)? Is Hank related to the guy in Beavis and Butthead who was identical in almost everyway..? And with B&B having Daria before she moved away can we assume all these cartoons are in the same universe?

;)

Just for fun, mind you :D

lol...reminds me of earlier this week when I asked:

"What is that movie? It is a religious satire? Not Dogma. Starts with an M."

Dude: "Stigmada?"

Me: "That's it."

Oh, and I usually color my cartoon characters orange.
