Separate reports in BusinessWeek (http://yahoo.businessweek.com/technology/content/jan2006/tc20060124_959402.htm) and the Hollywood Reporter (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1001883795) (quoting the Associated Press) are quoting anonymous sources that state that the Disney Board of Directors has approved the purchase of Pixar Animation Studios for approximately $7 billion. Disney may announce the deal, to be completed in a stock transaction, as early as today.
