So What really happened to Harley Quinn?

I caught an episode of Batman Beyond tonight and it was an episode with that black goo-chick villain and she hitched a ride on that--- im guessing it's the new batmobile-- but it flies lol (I know nothing of this new stuff).

In the batcave, she thrashed the glass case with harley Quinn's costume in it.

So in the future--- batman beat Harley and all the others??

Kinda is more of a let-down than just like--- 'hey look, Harley Quinn's costume!'

As for the other foes, seems implied in most superhero future-type stories that the hero's foes are either retired, semi-retired, or ultimately defeated (though I guess there's some exceptions...the old DC Comic "Earth-2" stories had the Huntress (The daughter of their world's Catwoman and Batman) facing off once against their world's aged Joker once, IIRC)...
