More 4Kids shows for Fox

I read this at the rec.arts.animation newsgroup:


In a news article I read on yahoo today about 4 kids new block on Fox, it reported that 2 new shows has been announced for the 4kids block.They are "Zelda:The Animated Series" and "The Yoshi Files".
4kids also announced that they will have 2 animes(names haven't been released) on their block also. More info was said to come later.


I wonder why the reporters at ToonZone did not report this...

A Zelda: Animated Series? Hmm, that sounds intriguing. I hope they take a more mature spin with it rather than chop-schlocky kiddie fun. I've always thought Zelda could make an epic movie, provided they focused on the story and not the FX.

It has to be out in Japan Right now..I wonder if anyone has seen it yet. I mean it has so much potential, I mean we all knwo it'll feature the little link, but that only makes it better.... Chances for trips to the Room of spirit and Time, epic battles with Gannondorf.... Theirs no way this show could turn out kiddie.

I've always felt that Zelda: OoT could make a very good and dark show if they really tryed. Knowing 4kids though, it'll be a very watered down kiddy show.

It's not on the anime intro archive listing. My guess is that it's starting this April. Each season of Digimon starts five months earlier in Japan, so it's not unheard of.

Maybe I'll check it out for you all, if you ask nicely. :) Can't be worse than my stab at Yugi-Oh last May... It took me all summer to finish that tape.

Can someone find actual proof of this story existing. I scoured all over Yahoo! and found nothing that even mentions this. Plus, none of the other animation news sites have even mentioned this one, so I'm beginning to think it's an early April Fools joke unless someone can prove me wrong.

OMG! I had forgotten all about that. Didn't it used to be on that same show where they had the Mario cartoon and the live action Mario Bros. skits?

Yep - Zelda would always air on Fridays and Mon-Thur would be the Super Mario Bros. toon. If you pick up the Supe Mario DVD that just came out from DIC a couple of weeks ago the special feature on it is an episode of The Legend of Zelda.

This new series sounds intriguing and could be great if the play off the influences of Ocarina of Time and the original NES games. Hopefully Majora's Mask will be almost entirely ignored though (I could never get into that game, not like the endless hours I spent playing OoT).
