I'm not sure if you've seen this, but if you're literate and you have a lot of time, go read this (http://members.tripod.com/ajeewa/movies/superman-lives.txt) script.

It's the Superman movie script that Kevn Smith wrote and Tim Burton rejected...and damn, if it had been made it would have easily been the best comic book movie since Superman II.

It's a little hokey at times and there are some terrible one-liners, but it gives the characters more depth than the first 4 Superman movies combined.

I skipped around, read the ending.........which wasn't so bad with Superman killing Brainiac because he was only a robot, and thus not against Sups' moral code.

However, Kevin Smith's Batman cameo was HORRIBLE. I couldnt stand that Batman addressed the nation or whatever he did when Superman died. That was once again just showing that nobody has a clue about Batman's personality.

Batman would not address the nation from his Batcave to honor Superman.

I hated his cameo.

Besides that though i saw nothing bad

I liked the beginning with Deadshot. But SUPERMAN LIVES was just too campy. No, I didn't want to see a murderous Superman, but I didn't want to see one that cracked jokes constantly either.

Agreed. Couldn't have said it better myself.

I've read it several times and I gotta say... I'd rather see something else. And I know Smith can write better stuff than that, just take a look at Green Arrow. I want to think that this was a rushed idea, but I don't know...

For the first few scenes, I tried to keep an open mind, but to be honest, the thing was so bad I almost didn't finish it, and when I did, I almost threw up. I didn't find one decent thing about the whole fiasco. The whole story was rushed, cliche, and just plain bad. The one liners were worthy of Batman & Robin, and the Batman cameo...don't get me started.

Actually, I think Kevin Smith himself provided a great metaphor for this script: the climactic battle between Superman and Doomsday...in a sewer. Whenever I think about Superman Lives, I see that image: Superman and Doomsday duking it out in a pile of crap.

Way too many jokes. Even Eradicator was telling jokes and he's a robot. And you know something's wrong when Luthor's stealing one of Mr. Burns's ideas.
