View Full Version : A plea to Timm, CN, and anyone else who makes these kind of decisions

PLEASE do *NOT* allow JL to be "STASed" or even "BTASed" by Teen Titans if you make it. Do not allow one GREAT show to suddenly have no more episodes ordered or worse yet have the number ordered cut back and then dropped altogether
I love and support your work and I am sure that I will love TT as much as STAS and JL, but please do them in a timely manner so we get the best of both worlds rather than suddenly losing one of them.
thank you

I second that. This fan is an ardent admirer, and would love to see it continue. Please continue making Justice League episodes beyond Season Two.
As an aside--
Do the powers that be really want to fool around with the network's no. 1 rated show?

I honestly don't see that happening. If, and that's a big if, CN makes a Titans (would rather have Titans as the title over Teen Titans) series I don't think it will cut into the JL:TAS. With what looks to be the end of the Zeta Project after this season there will once again be more animators looking for a new show to work on. Not only that but it would probably free up Alan Burnett once again. A Burnett/Dini collaboration with Timm would rock and I think they are talented enough to do more than one show at a time and still give us the quality we expect.

JL should snap up Alan
and did you see Timm had "no comment" on the idea of a TT series??
looks like it may happen

I agree JL should snap up Alan. The no comment thing from Timm might be one of two things 1)it's in the works and he wants it kept secret or 2) there is nothing going on right now and he doesn't want the fans to know about a potential series. (Kinda like he didn't tell us about LoSH until after he had proposed it).

What's with all this Titans hype?
Don't get me wrong. I love the Titans. But a TV show right NOW!?! a Joke, right?
For all you know the whole Titans News thing could be a hoax. All Bruce Timm said was "No comment" meaning that either they're Thinking about it or It's inconclusive.
I really don't want the whole Titans Idea to overshadow JL. I mean we've waited a long time for a JL show we don't need to be distracted by another show.
Timm and co. work on a tight budget I think, I don't want them to lose focus on the Great show that is JL.
Wait for a few years, At least till Justice League gets 3 or 4 seasons.
Or if everyones crazy about it. Why not make a Titans origin story as a JL episode and then later on create a spin off out of it?
There's so much to look forward to in JL I don't want another show to ruin the experience.

If The Titans animated series does indeed effect production of Justice League...(which I don't see how it couldn't) Then I too would have to say that they should wait a little while for Titans. I would love it if JL lasts longer then all the other previous DC animated series put together.

I would like JL to have 4 or more seasons before a Teen Titans show gets started.

Now I'm getting worried.
Jim Harvey says, "Don't be so anxious! Calm down." We're all anxious because we remember our history. Didn't Batman Beyond's introduction cut short the lifespan of The Batman/Superman Adventures? Timm & Co. have to eat, sleep, pay bills, and take vacations too, so they only have 40 hours a week to work, just like the rest of us. When they started devoting those 40 hours a week to working on Batman Beyond, that was the end of The Batman/Superman Adventures.
And we're scared the same thing is going to happen here. If Timm & Co. start a Teen Titans animated series, it will quickly start to take up all 40 hours of their work weeks... and that will mean the end of Justice League. :(
And, like I've said before, Justice League needs to have a minimum of 3 full Seasons, preferably 5 full Seasons (or more if we're lucky)...

like i said in another post, I have NO problems with a TT series so long as they END JL -- dont leave us hanging

I just received an urgent message from Thanagar. Should the Teen Titans take off prematurely, Hawkgirl's mace will be emptied of all of its power, and her wings will be clipped.... :(

I'd rather they pick up the Batman series again.
Can't get enough of the Bat!!!
By the way, is the 4th animated Batman movie official? Has it been green-lighted for production?

An interesting point is made by nothing. The "teen angle" certainly sounds like KWB.

That still doesn't mean it won't take up much of Timm & Co's time so that they wouldn't be able to make Justice League. What does networks have to do with anything?

"If this whole TT ruckus is actually true, who's to say it's going to play on CN and replace JL? This could be a KWB show, or developed for KWB and will play on CN (like Mucha Lucha or Batman Beyond) and be in addition to JL..."
Nothing, it wouldn't matter what channel they put a Teen Titans TV show on! Bruce Timm & Co. only have 40 hours a week to work, just like the rest of us. And if they start devoting all of their time to Teen Titans, Justice League will not get the attention it deserves. Even if everything you stated above happens, it could still kill Justice League, because there's only so many people in Timm & Co.'s group, and so many hours a week they can work, to go around...
Only AFTER Justice League finishes its run (a minimum of 3 full Seasons, and preferably 5 full Seasons, or more if we're lucky), would I want Timm & Co. to work on anything else. :(

[indent]While I certainly also want as many quality Justic League seasons as possible, I think it is ultimately up to the people behind the show. They know the best where they can go with a concept and how many good stories they have in them. If they think it is time to end a show because they think they have something better to replace it with then I say more power to them. A show can always be revisited later on down the road, like Batman was. I'm happy as long as they continue to produce quality animated series, whatever they may be.

Maybe that's how it will work out. Pre-production on a show can take years before it take soff. If you look at early model sheets for BATMAN: TAS some are dated 1989 and 1990, more than 2 yeras before the show hit the airwaves - and this could be the sam,e thing. We may not see TT (if at all) until 2005 or 2006, by then JL will have 4 - 5 seasons.

I would think that the pre-production times for both Justice League and a Teen Titans TV show would be much shorter than the pre-production times for B:TAS and B/S were, because JL and a TT series would be building on what has already been developed, and not developing from scratch.
Jim Harvey, I hope you're right. I really, really, do... :(
Three Seasons minimum for Justice League! (Please? :()
