Does anybody know what kind of Batman/Superman DVD 's are coming out for sure? I also heard that there is going to be at least 4 Batman Beyond movies. I'm not sure if it's true? Last but no least is there a Harley/Ivy mini-series coming out to comic book stores?

I would seriously doubt you will be seeing any Batman Beyond movies anytime soon. WB has basically decided to ignore the cartoon and instead wants to focus on the original Batman franchise. Currently there are three DTV scripts in at WB for three new animated Batman movies. Originally Batman was going to get the Scooby-Doo treatment with a new DTV coming out every year. There is a lot of speculation that Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero will be the unofficial start of this but this hasn't been confirmed as of yet.
The three scripts were worked on by Timm and (I believe) Dini but have yet to be greenlit (they are expected to be greenlit shortly though).
On the other hand - seeing as how Kids WB! and Cartoon Network pretty much exist as seperate entities there would be nothing stopping CN from making a new Batman Beyond movie - as long as the fan support was there.

The Batman/Superman DVDs coming out FOR SURE:
Sub-Zero
Worlds Finest
Return of the Joker (Original Cut)
Justice League
Batman:The Legend Begins (first 5 eps of TAS)
And those are all hitting on april 23rd.
BB DTV movies? Not yet..probably won't be
And the Harley & Ivy mini-series? I haven't heard anything else on it, but I'm sure it will be in comic stores, and if not, then it'll probably find its way into a trade-paperback..:)

I have a feeling the Harley and Ivy book that was talked about years ago will never see the light of day.
Don't fret. The two will be in the upcoming Gotham Girl's mini. Assuming it comes to life.

To those of you that have the Batman: Animated book... do you remember the sketches for a Harely and Ivy story in there? They supposedly go to Hollywood to stop a movie from being made, I think it was about Batman and his rogue's gallery. Anyone know what I'm talking about?...

I know exactly what you are referring to! I saw that and thought "Wow....is that the Harley and Ivy Mini-Series???" Unfortunately, no one seems to know, and everytime Timm or Dini are asked about it, they never seem sure when it'll come out. I've heard that it's still being inked, or that it's been re-drawn, and that they still have to color it...or that they changed colorists... The whole project seem to be on DC's back burner...and we're the ones getting burned!

I've been waiting for Harley and Ivy for what seems like a decade now... oh wait, it HAS been a decade. Sigh...
As far as new adventures go... BB is stone dead. Superman direct-to-video adventures are a possibility but unlikely, as he isn't nearly as popular as Bats. (However, one of the supposed Batman DTV plots would be a World's Finest team-up.) Batman has the most possibility of coming back as DTVs, as Dini was actively writing some recently. But we haven't heard confirmation that WB has greenlit them for a looooooong time, and that has me worried.

Like everything else in California, the animation industry business is subject to earthquakes. Sometimes they are bad -- the ROTJ earthquake seems to have demolished Batman Beyond -- and sometimes they are good: STAS was greenlit because Warners was actively developing a live-action Superman movie.
Once you recognize that there is no rhyme or reason to why things get made or cancelled or revived, and that you should just stop worrying about it, life as a fan becomes a lot easier.

Actually the latest word was that Dini had turned in three Batman DTV scripts (each in a different style, these being - BTAS, TNBA and JL:TAS) but Warner hasn't green-lit any of them yet. My guess is that we'll get an announcement sometime after Sub-Zero is released - seeing as how WB wants to make Batman it's next Scooby empire - a new Batman DTV movie every year and Sub-Zero is the rumored start to this.

Actually, it was confirmed that the three dtv's were not each going to be in different styles and that was just a rumor that Dini had not even heard before.

That is correct, peterparker05. Alan Burnett confirmed that on the newspage sometime ago. That was a bizarre rumor began by a poster here that turned out to be false. But there are three scripts awaiting the go ahead.
And the Harley & Ivy comic is happening, but the inker (Sahne Glines) has many other obligations that is causing the slow production of aid mini-series. And as for the H & I animated series, I talked to some folks and got a "not happening" comment.

My sources say diffrent-
or rather my sources say PD was doing a pitch for it. I have no idea how far past a pitch it got.
So we'll have to wait and see.

Personally, I wouldn't want to see one. I think there is only so much you can do with the "Harley & Ivy" formula before it got very stale. Although it would be an interesting counter program to the dark BTAS, is would get old, fast. I could see it as a min-series, but not as an ongoing series.

I think Paul can pull it off for at least a season.
Has to be better than most of the JLA stuff.

Sorry about that then - I had never heard about it only being a rumor - thanks for keeping me up to date guys! :)

I remember, Salvor! I still remember reading the lettercolumn of BATMAN ADVENTURES #11 (I think that was the ish) where they announced the mini-series. BATMAN ADVENTURES was originally supposed to go bi-weekly for 3 months beginning with issue #10, but they opted for the mini-series instead. And now...9 years later...:)

Wait a sec, im confused. Are'nt they making any new material?
They're just putting all those old movies we've seen a hundred times over onto DVD, and playing them off as new?
If that's true, why are any of you going to buy them? Just for DVD's sake.
What is it a test run to see if it sells, then they get to make new movies? I dont get it.

No, they're not advertising them as "new." They're just releasing the material onto DVDs.
And DVDs are a lot better than tapes, so yeah, a lot of us are going to upgrade from our crappy home-made tapes filled with commercials and sloppy editing and broadcasting fuzz to something crisp and clean and lookin' brand spankin' new! :)
