Freak you out/tramautize you? Okay, my mom seems to think that my older sister and I loved ET. Now, it's a great and interesting movie, that's for sure. But ET seriously freaked me out as a kid, and my sister too. And, I've asked friend at school, and they said the same thing: their parents thought they liked it, but it really seemed scary to them when they were little. I mean, come on, his finger glows, he's little and weird looking, his neck goes from really small and then it elongates....and it talks in a creepy high voice.....what about him wouldn't scare a kid? Although, I do have one buddy who says he thought ET was pretty cool.

I was never scared of E.T. I guess I always knew deep in my heart that if he ever tried something, Alf would rip him apart. What a pal.

I was kinda afraid of E.T. when I saw it, but I quickly got over that, the only really weird parts of E.T. was Elliot in his underwear and then when they both got drunk, those scenes were a little odd.

I loved ET when I was akid. Didn't get freaked out by him at all.

My girlfriend's reaction is another story. She was absolutely terrified of him when she saw the movie as a kid. Apparently she was also terrified of Yoda in the The Empire Strike Back!

ET scared the living daylights out of me as a kid! I haven't seen the movie since I was 6 because of it - and I didn't even get through the whole movie, I ran out of the room at the part where Elliot is in the field and finds ET. So, I haven't seen the whole movie, and I haven't seen it at all for 15 years ;) People still make fun of me because of that fear.

I remember my family renting that movie every year on Halloween for a few years - but I don't remember anything particularly scary about it. Well, maybe that part where E.T. got sick - that was kinda freaky... :o

E.T. himself didn't really scare me, but parts of the movie did. Like the whole part of the movie near the middle of the end while E.T. and Elliot are sick and almost dead and all the guys in the big plastic suits are everywhere. That part of the movie still freaks me out a little bit...

I don't remember ever being scared of E.T., I know the scene when he gets sick kind of weirded me out a bit, but not scared.

I remeber being freaked out by ET as a little kid. I was like three or four. I would ask my parents to cover up any pics of him and stuff. And I wouldn't even let them wacth the moive with me in the room.

Now I kinda want to see the moive to find out what the heck I was so scared about! :p

PS Alf rocked BTW! ^_^

It didn't scare me, but when Elliot was trying to wake up the "dead" ET, I cried like a baby, both at 5 years old and at 23 years old. Watching that seen was just like when Bambi's mom was killed but a hunter, same effect. :(

I was 10 when I first saw it in the theater and I loved it. I even got one of those huge stuffed ET dolls and an ET bedspread that Christmas.
