What's your favorite "Fox and Crow" cartoon?
My favorite is "Way Down Yonder in the Corn."
That's a really funny one! The ending with the
Fox as "Sidney Scarecrow" is the funniest part!:p

I really like "The Fox and Grapes", so I voted for that one, since it's just so funny! Also, Mel Blanc does a great job as both characters in this one.
I also like "Mr. Moocher".

It was a difficult choice for me, but I finally decided on "Tollbridge Troubles". The storyline was pretty good, the gags were pretty funny, and it was very well-animated. Tashlin must have had a pretty good influence on director Bob Whickersham, because he uses some strange camera angles in this and other "Fox & Crow" outings he directed.

I also like "Tollbridge Trouble." After the fox pays the crow $2 to cross the bridge, the crow turns the sign that reads: TOLL BRIDGE to FREE PUBLIC BRIDGE and shouts "Sucker!" The crow gets what he deserves when he gets spanked by the sign everytime the bridge turns around.

Now that I've seen TOLL BRIDGE TROUBLES, it's my favorite Fox and Crow.
It seems to be a deliberate effort to outdo THE FOX AND THE GRAPES, and it succeeds in spades. While the slapstick gags making up the second half of the short aren't quite as good, the opening and initial argument between Fauntleroy and Crawford is just impossible to beat.
FAUNTLEROY: "I will cross the river... because I am a fox!"
CRAWFORD (in mock disbelief): "Noooo!"

I think THE FOX AND THE GRAPES is the best - but of the regular series, primarily voiced by Frank Graham (Isn't he great?) my favorites are, in this order:
WOODMAN SPARE THAT TREE
TOLL BRIDGE TROUBLES
WAY DOWN YONDER IN THE CORN (Those great backgrounds are ahead of their time)
And honorable mention to: THE DREAM KIDS (cool psychedelic dream stuff)
and MYSTO FOX (which I know most of you haven't seen - but it has the Crow doing an imitation of Bugs Bunny in one scene which is hilarious)

I went with "The Fox and the Grapes"... very good sight gags and excellently directed by Frank Tashlin. If there were any cartoon to open the series, I'm glad it was this one.

Now that our toon God, Mr. Jerry Beck, has said what is favorites are, I now want to see those few remaining Fox & Crow shorts:
Woodsman, Spare That Tree
The Egg Yegg
Mysto Fox
The Magic Fluke
Hmm, I might have to come up with some $$$...

"Fox and the Grapes" easily wins this one by being the most consistantly funny. Many of the others are mixed bags. "Way Down Yonder in the Corn" comes in a close second. Does anyone have copies of the ones Lislebartman just mentioned along with "Unsure Runts"?

Yes, I missed "Unsure Runts" from that list.
Thanks!!

I went with "Tollbridge Troubles" myself. I have only seen a handful of these I got in a recent trade, and would love to see more. I didn't realize I was missing out on such a great series!
