As many of you remember, I submitted a CN schedule proposal for the future a while back, and got very enthusiastic feedback!
The practice of submitting schedule proposals is nothing new; it is a tradition on alt.tv.game-shows for all practical purposes; many including myself have regularly submitted proposals for Game Show Network (Dave Mackey also regularly posts to this newsgroup), and I recall a couple of posters doing the same on alt.tv.cartoon-network recently. However, I have thrown in a revision to my proposal, based on additional research and feedback I had gotten. Anyhoo, here is what I have come up with:

Hopefully, CN Programming Execs. will pick up a few ideas here! Let's hope that they finally do! :bosko:

For the most part, I like what I see...a Terrytoons show? The return of Late Night Black&White? Neat!

I only have two things I spot that could use improvement...the idea of sandwiching something Toonami at 4:30 a.m. isn't great to me, since it'd be out of place with the good stuff surrounding it (how 'bout substituting reruns of Toonheads, or Rocky & Bullwinkle?)...also, Home Movies and The Brak Show need slots Sunday night. I've got to admit, for the most part, this is an improvement over what we have now, though, nice work :).

Don't forget about the new Viacom toon channel. Some of these shows may appear on that channel instead.

Don't post this on the Adult Swim board, cause the fact that you've completely removed Adult Swim will not go over well there.

Also, you've trimmed the Toonami Midnight Run, which won't make the toonami board people happy...and you didn't include the newly returned third hour to toonami from 4-5

I like it (Yes!-Pink Panther and O Canada). Just move all Adult Swim shows on Thursday to Sunday.

10:30pm is a little late for the Tex Avery Show.

Bugs and Daffy/Tom and Jerry (2-3pm) should be switched with Powerpuff Girls/Johnny Bravo (4-5pm).

On Saturday, Pup Named Scooby Doo and Noveltoons Show should have their times switched with each other.

Putting Rocky and Bullwinkle in the middle of the afternoon like that is a good idea.

At least one of these three things should be done to make "Acme Hour" better:
1) Show rare cartoons
2) Show WB and MGM one-shots in chronological order
3) Show character cartoons, such as Droopy or Barney Bear, on a regular basis.

One problem: How would Cartoon Network get the rights to some of those cartoons?

Actually, Adult Swim is very much alive and well on my schedule.
In fact, I expanded it from 2 1/2 hours to 3 hours; 2 hours on Thursday from 10pm-12am, and 1 hour on Sunday from 11pm-12am. You might want to read my schedule proposal a little more carefully.

As for the 3rd hour of Toonami airing on Friday from 4-5, I'm afriad that CN will drop the 4-5pm Friday 3rd hour with the April schedule changes, at least according to Adlink http://www.adlink.com/networks/ Therefore, this was more Cartoon Network's decision than mine!

Hope this helps! :bosko:

How does that "Adlink" site work? When I click on "Schedule for the week of...", it gives nothing but garbage. :o

About that "CN Marathon", is it Cartoon-Olio?

Umm, Adult Swim is 3 hours on Saturday, and I think 3 hours on Sunday.

And starting this fall, toonami is going back to 3 hours.

Thanks Kent :D and you have my approval on the new schedule 100% percent. If all goes well, we might start seeing silent cartoons in the future, as Gak said (several months ago) that for Christmas eve this year, CN might present a special showcase of silent cartoons and if it gets good ratings then CN might make it a regluar weekly series..Let's hope this will happen.

Five of the six Adult Swim shows currently airing on Saturday are actually Toonami shows running under Saturday's Adult Swim lineup. Also, I placed these under Toonami's Midnight Run, which IMHO, they would be better suited for. Also, I split up Sunday's Adult Swim onto Thursday (2 hours) and Sunday (1 hour) to allow a little more flexibility in my schedule. BTW, Sunday's Adult Swim is actually 2 1/2 hours, not 3.

Hope this answers your question! :bosko:

I think you're right about Toonami Midnight Run. I'm sure that cutting back to 1/2 hour would not make them happy! Obviously, not all of CN's fans are into Classic Animation like we are! I have below a few amendments to my schedule proposal that you solve this problem:

MONDAY-FRIDAY (late night and overnight shows from 11:30pm to 5:30am only-- all other shows on CN's schedule are the same as the above schedule at the start of this thread)

11:30pm The Popeye Show
TOONAMI MIDNIGHT RUN:
12:00am Tenchi Muyo (Monday)
Yuyu Hakusho (Tuesday)
Pilot Candidate (Wednesday)
Gundam 0083 (Thursday)
Outlaw Star (Friday)
12:30am Dragon Ball Z
1:00am Acme Hour
2:00am New Scooby Doo Movies
3:00am Tom & Jerry (repeat of 2:30pm airings)
3:30am Woody Woodpecker (repeat of 3pm airings)
4:00am Terrytoons Show (repeat of 3:30pm airings)
4:30am (repeat of 8:30pm Cartoon Cartoon airings):
Cow & Chicken (Monday)
Grim & Evil (Tuesday)
I am Weasel (Wednesday)
Sheep in the Big City (Thursday)
Time Squad (Friday)
5:00am 2 Stupid Dogs
5:30am Freakazoid

I anyone has any additional suggestions/comments/questions about my CN Schedule Proposal, please post. I really could still use additional feedback! :bosko:
