I believe that Darkseid would view Wonder Woman as a an adversary as she's an Amazon. In the Wonder Woman comics, there was a link between the New Gods and the Greek Gods.

I believe Supes would kill him if he went after Diana.

LOL! I hope Darkseid isn't in love with Wonder Woman when he appears.

Maybe he'll be in love with Hawkgirl

Seriously tho, I agree that giving Darkseid a 'love-life' would be way too "superfriendsy" Also, heck, if he didn't even glance at Kara (except to Omega Beam her), then he's either in Joker's obsessive 'asexual' league, or he's completely loyal to Granny Goodness :o

Seeing as how he has two sons I don't think hes in the asexual league. I wonder, how could Darkseid have kids..... eww.... somethings are best left unthoughtof.:O

Good question. Either Darkseid was in love with someone who later turned against him after discovering his true agenda, or he might've had a relationship with Granny Goodness. Did Darkseid always look the way he dose now? Because the only way a pretty woman would've taken Darkseid would be if he looked hansome in his younger years. I could understand Granny Goodness taking Darkseid if he looked the same. After all, that would explain why he has a son like Kalibak. (Note the Sarcasim) I've heard of that Superfriends Episode where Darkseid kidnaps Wonder Woman, and would like to see it. Anybody know where it can be downloaded?

Supergirl is a minor (she's only 16).

Not only is Supergirl a minor, but Darkseid is like, what, 1000? Major age gap. Of course, you've seen celebrities always going for those super young perky models. Tho, in his case, I'll bet he's just a little too obsessed with taking over the universe, destroying the Justice League, and winning John Delaney polls ( :p ).

Quick Q about Darkseid tho. Highfather and him both had sons, and, for a peace treaty, they traded, right? So Kalibak is Highfather's son, and Orion is Darkseid's son, right? Just wondering since in Legacy, Darkseid commented on Kalibak being 'blood'.

The Green Hornet

no no

Mr. Miracle aka Scott Free is Highfathers son

he agreed to the trade to save little orions soul and to temper scotts

kalibak is darkseids son by some woman he really didnt care for

its not explained well in the show is it

consider this-- why would Highfather have such a worthless son? ;)

also by now Kara is legal-- at LEAST 2 years have passed if not more

Borg4of3

ah nutz. yeah, it really did seem like that in the show. It would also be an explanation for why Darkseid treats Kalibak like dirt while treating Orion so highly. Also, I thought it was interesting that Darkseid turned Highfather's own son into a mutated monster that he never acknowledged.

But, alas, all those notions were false. Doh! Thanks for the info!

And I just though - Technically, Kara should be like 30- or 40-something, since she was cryo-frozen when she was 16 :p

The Green Hornet

true true

yeah kalibak is more like a bastard child who found his dad as opposed to highfathers son

after all darkseid does acknowledge "i cant believe he's blood" in legacy

So the question of the hour is... Who is Darkseid's baby mama?

Orion Looks a little gruffy, but still does'nt look anything like Darseid. What gives?

Is Darkseid wearing a mask like Vader? Or is that 1000 years of Unwashed skin? And what the heck is he? Is he getting more powerfull or weaker? Personally I think they should beef him up with more powers. For a maniacal wanna be ruler of the universe, he sure is a failure.

To answer this question, I pulled out of my VHS library "Apokolips... Now!" (Parts I & II) and "Legacy" (Parts I & II) and watched them again. (I've been bored tonight since I got home from work. :)) And...

It is specifically stated in "Apokolips... Now!", Part I, that Orion is Darkseid's biological son, and Kalibak is Highfather's biological son. (Orion actually says to Superman and Dr. Hamilton, "Yes, I know how he [Darkseid] thinks... I'm his son.") Heck, Kalibak even looks just like Highfather!!! And Orion bares a striking resemblance to Darkseid, once you see him with his mask off.

Highfather and Darkseid traded their infant sons as part of a peace treaty between New Genesis and Apokolips. That's why, when New Genesis intervenes on Earth's behalf in "Apokolips... Now!", Part II, Darkseid says to Orion, "I've been observing your ferocity for some time now... and not without undue pride. I won't quibble with you over this insignificant speck in the Universe. I would hate to spoil our reunion with bloodshed." Darkseid then orders a full retreat.

That's why Darkseid treats Kalibak like dirt -- because he IS the biological son of his most hated enemy. And he respects Orion becuase he's his biological son.

And Darkseid makes comments like "I can't believe he's blood" to everyone because he doesn't want Kalibak to find out the truth -- that he's really the biological son of his adopted father's hated enemy.

Green Hornet, you're thinking of the DC Comics Universe, not the Dini/Timm DC Animated Universe. :D

By the way... why does everyone assume that Darkseid's having children involves love and romance? Darkseid is the evil New God. Darkseid has children to increase his immortality and control. I would think his so-called "wives" are female slaves who didn't have a choice, if you know what I mean. (Darkseid has no equals on Apokolips, remember?)

I think your reasoning is interesting, but flawed nonetheless.

I don't think that the "I can't believe he's blood" line was meant to decieve Kalibak. That's just taking an unecessary liberty w/the comic book history of the New Gods. Besides, the line would really confuse viewers anyway.

And as for Darkseid's appearance, who says that he was born that way? Maybe he was bombarded w/cosmic rays at some point. (Actually, in the comics it has been explained that he attained his current appearance as a young "godling.")

Kara may be legal now but at the time of Legacy she wasn't.

As for Kalibak's parentage, it is clear that Kalibak is Darkseid's biological son based on comments like "I can't believe he is blood." It is also acknowledged that Orion was the child Darkseid exchanged for Highfather's son but we have yet to meet Highfather's son, presumably Mister Miracle (who we haven't seen aside from the cameo of the New Genesis New Gods at the end of Apokolips... Now).

Maybe in the upcoming Darkseid storyline we will probably meet Mister Miracle.

Alrighty then! :D So, now either we have one heck of a character tweak (which works wonderfully for the anti-relation between Darkseid/Highfather), but with a big nitpick in a misleading "can't belive he's blood" line; or just one big STAS nitpick overall in the misleading flashback sequence. The baby that Highfather gave up was even shown to have black hair, and it really does imply that that was Kalibak.

The STAS creators made a big mistake here, one way or the other.

And I doubt a being of pure evil from a world far removed from our own would even care about whether she was legally allowed to be 'looked at'.

Yeah, but... Kalibak even looks just like Highfather! The only reason he's hunched over and bulky is because of Darkseid treating him like dirt (because he's Highfather's son)...

kalibak is darkseids son by his second wife ;)

orion is his son by his first
