Well, after watching an episode of Batman Beyond, I was very disturbed with the comments made by one of the characters..(I don't remember their names) It was in episode 'Golem'
Guy: The malls boring. Wanna go for a ride?
Girl: You care more about that car then you do about me.
Guy: who said I was talking about a car?
'Scuse me...but this show is made for young children!!!!! Does that really need to be in a Batman show?!?!? I can just imagine the 7 year olds running up to their parents reciting this scene, asking what it meant.....(though thats very doubtful they could remember that, or think anything of it)
Just a comment from me.

We had a poll about this a couple weeks ago. Very interesting what cartoonist can put into their work these days.

Well cartoons were originally meant for adults, like Bugs Bunny. I don't believe it is good to put inuendos in cartoons, but when kids are that young they really don't know what they mean.

it kinda gets annoying when almost the whole episode is full on inuendos, like disappearing inque.

yeah. Well, I remember when "The Ultimate Thrill" aired, and that whole Roxy Rocket issue..I didn't know what was going on..and I was like 10 then..so, I don't believe it affects the younger. With those references, then the episodes might appeal more to the adults..

Good point! Most of the innuendos go way over the heads of little ones. Then again, none of those innuendos are in any of the recent cartoons. I think for teens who are old enough to understand and notice them, they're funny little things. But that one in GOLEM was a bit obvious.

Yeah, just think of all the phallic reactions in the Tex Avery cartoons, or the unnatural behavior of Elmer Fudd's hat when Bugs walks in wearing a dress. It amuses me to no end that parents complain about the phallic tower in the Little Mermaid poster, but don't bat an eye at the old 40s cartoons.

Does anyone remember Freakazoid telling Princess Di and Sharon Stone to stop fighting over him because "there's plenty of me to go around. If not, I'll just have them draw me bigger"? Was I the only one who fell out my chair in shock (and hilarity) at that line?

Well put yourselves in the shoes of these cartoon writers. Dont you think id be boring to have to tone down your writing all the time, especially when much of your audience wont know what you'll be talking about anyway??
Id throw all sorts of stuff in too, just to entertain myself while i was writing the stuff

Did anyone read the Batman TAS book by Chip Kid and Paul Dini? They had an entire page devoted to edits that the censors gave them. Most hillarious thing ever. However I still think the.
"You've never wrestled with him." line in Rebirth was pretty obvious even to an 8 year old.

yeah, that picture said it all... joker shooting batman, batman strangling joker, a child in danger, a nude catwoman, drugs, alcohol... and some of the stuff they had t edit was pretty funny to, like 'find somewhere for catwoman to land aisde from her breasts'... i saw that and about died laughing...
as for the quotes, that one from rebirth tops 'em all...

Hey:
I know this ain't in BB but in the show MIB they have had some pretty shocking stuff in that show as well. In the episode where Agent K or J ate some alien food at a party in MIB headquaters, well after he ate it his body would be ingulfed in flames, and he could also fly. But when the flames would die out he would be butt naked, now I don't know about you but little kids could get that one and say look he's naked. When he would return to Headquaters the blond agent (don't know her name.) would see that Agent K or J would have a wheelbarrel around his body covering him up. Again pretty noticibal stuff.
Then towards the end of the show when all the agents were trapped in some kind or forcefield, the blond agent took out some cream and said to them to put it on there hands, then an agent asked her why she carries cream with her and she bites her lip and then she says "I..... use it for..... suntan lotion." Now when I heard this I laughed so hard that I couldn't believe that they actually put that in a kids show. So it's not just happening in BB but it's happening in MIB also.
I do not know what this episode was called but it was a recent new episode where aliens gave the MIB boss a statue and in the statue it was creating a green slim. But I thought this episode had some pretty shocking stuff in there, but with all the stuff I said in this episode there was some other things in it that I have no time typing so I'll be on my way.
Have a Nice Day!

That was "The Hots for Jay Syndrome". My question on that one would be, if the caterers knew the dip was so all-fired (so to speak) dangerous...why set it out? At least label the bowl, for the love of all that's holy.
My favorite MIB dodgy moment was in "The Buzzard Syndrome", in which J is half-naked (he's just fed his clothes to an alien) and has fallen very suggestively on top of L. She smiles coyly at him, strokes his cheek gently, and purrs, "J...you're so...heavy."
I didn't see anything very dodgy in the cream line, but I suppose with some imagination it could be used as a lubricant. Maybe there's a reason it's called K-Y jelly.......
An aside on "Endgame Syndrome"--did anyone else think when the pink alien produced Lucy, Zeeltor's pet, it looked like he had a pocketful of boogers? Yuk....
We should get Rocky in here and ask what's her take on the matter. If I'm the king of dodgy, she's the queen.... :D

Gracias, batboy2001. I admit I was not going to reply to it because I hate to repeat myself. I've discussed this subject before and even posted the poll for the dodgiest moment/quote in Beyond. But some things are worth saying more than once, right? Nelson's line about going for a drive may be the dodgiest quote (excepting anything Inque says to Aaron in "Disappearing Inque; she's in a class by herself!) since Catwoman looking for a warm place to sleep in "Cult of the Cat" ..but like I've said before, the number one sick moment for me was Olly getting his jollies from that tuning fork in "Babel" (the captioning says "estatic moaning", so somebody else is thinking along similar lines). Forget The Exorcist, said I, I'm taking a tuning fork with me next time I'm on a date. But with my luck I'll only succeed in giving her a splitting headache....

"What?"
"Nuthin'"
I laughed at that one. So much stuff you realize when your older... man..Batman Returns even had a sexual comment in it..

I don't get the Suntan cream joke with L, can someone clue me in. You can give it as a private messege if you want. Oh and what about Myxy and that red haired girl. Goodness, moy cousin walked into the room and said.
"They put that stuff in Cartoons now."
Oh and another thing, ever notice how we can catch these things and the censors can't? That's pretty weird.

I must admit I don't get that one either. I think that was his wife, even so it was weird to throw that in there.
I know this is kinda offtopic cuz it's not about BB but BTAS.
But!...
In Subzero where Barb is being held prison in that cell and tried to reach the ventillation shaft by jumping up and down on her bed...Well the only visible thing when they start the scene is; the bed is moving up and down and there is this umm...moaning. Heh :D
I don't know but for some reason I felt embarrased when I saw that scene. Maybe it was because I had errr...unapropriate thoughts about what was going on.
The scene panned up rather fast so we get to know that she's actually trying to reach something...but I still can't watch it without feeling there was something else in mind...sort of...

If this is a bit of innuendo it's pretty weird. Most of the time when something dodgy seems to be going on there's a reason for thinking it could actually be happening: Nelson really could be (and is) propositioning Blade with that "ride" remark.
But what would we be thinking with the bed-jumping scene? That Mr. Freeze might really be slipping Babs something cold and nasty? Doesn't make a lot of sense.
I understand perfectly why you reacted to it this way. I kinda doubt Boyd Kirkland intended it to be a bit of innuendo, but maybe it just turned out that way.
I thought it was SO obvious and I have showed it to others and they agree with me. I'm not saying that it was intentional but that's the way it works for me

I recall someone else mentioning the suggestive bed-bouncing scene in Sub-Zero an eon ago..though I agree it wouldn't fit. Freeze is devoted completely to Nora and would never have relations with another woman...and besides, in his state Babs' body heat would kill him.
For my money Roxy is the queen after her performance in "Ultimate Thrill", (I saw that on a full-screen TV in college and it blew my g.d. mind!)...second only to Catwoman's "warm place to sleep" (though webmistress Harley assured me that the line is more at a cat's nature--they love sunny windowsills--than a carnal suggestion).
Of course, to the right mind Pokemon can be taken as full of filth--look at what Heracross did to Bulbasaur in several eps (it tried to nurse, although Bulba's a male!)...and Chikorita has mounted Ash's leg like a dog (though it's a girl) on several occassions....

I love these naughty one liners. Kid's won't get it and if they do it's because the already know what they are talking about so it doesn't matter.
I think sex and censors go way over the top. Violence is okay, providing it's in a good cause, but harmless cheeky remarks... got to watch those!!
Censors really need to get a perspective.
Still I'm surprised how many of these remarks the censors okayed in BB. I hadn't really realised how many there were until this thread!!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Once upon a time censors knew not only where to draw a line, but how to draw it; now they don't.
True example: In the 1945 film "The Outlaw" (starring Jane Russell) Doc Holliday takes Billy the Kid's horse without asking, and the Kid retaliates by bedding Holliday's mistress. In the original script, the Kid explains his action with the line: "You borrowed from me, so I borrowed from you." But the chief censor objected to this as too blatant, so the scriptwriter challenged him to come up with a new line. The censor suggested replacing it with: "Tit for tat." Which is far more subtle and much funnier, when you think about it.

I think it's okay to have that stuff in there, IMHO. Cartoons arn't just for kids. :) And lil kids dont get that stuff anyway.....(yeah so what if that stuff was mentioned before lol)

I watched the first episode of BB yesterday(it's been a while) and there was that scene where Terry and Nelson were wresteling. Dana said
"Terry will win" or something to that effect, and the Blonde girl with short hair (I can't remeber her name right now) said
"you've never wrestled with him"
I laughed when I heard this I thought is was a great scene

I think the "Mine's bigger than yours" qoute was about the swords. What about Meliane (AKA Ten)? Someone at GothamCityUSA was talking about her movement in that episode. I do agree that the show has that stuff in it.
