what about an educational contest...a State/Province contest...since most of us are in America/Canada, you pick a state, and make an avatar which reflects it. When entering, you talk about how your avatar reprisents your state...

Just a note, I added a fairly large CCS (Card Captor Sakura) section to my page today...14 avatars right now, and I haven't even finished with the pictures I have...

Here's my latest avatar. Still trying to figure out which one I like best. The Oracle one I had a week ago I like, or the first Nightwing one.....though I still love my original one, might go back to it in the end,lol. Hmm, loads of people do seem to have anime related avatars, so it would be nice to have a contest for them. I've seen quite a few awesome looking avatars of Kenshin, Sano-chan and Duo. Hmm, or maybe the best Batman avatar? Just him, no one else? And then later on, the best Batgirl, Robin and Nightwing avatars. Or maybe, the best villain avatar.

Someone might find this useful: on my quest through Google.com I found this site with some rare Superman promotional sketches--you know, those pictures of a show that don't necessarily appear on the show? Like that picture of Batman chasing Two-Face in the car or the one with the Joker pitching balls at a dunk tank of sulfuric acid? Anyway, these four pictures are pretty rare (as in, I haven't seen them anywhere else). Here's the link:

How about....an "Animated Eye's" Avatar contest? Focusing on the eye's of our fav. cartoon characters. I can see, now...avatars of Samurai Jacks infamous "eye's-logo". Or perhaps the eye's of everyone's favorite...Brak. Or any of the PPG's eyes. And just think...everyone who has an anime-character's eye..well...they'll all look oddly the same! :eek:

As for new contests, i think it would be neat to do an arch-nemesis one. Either the enemy of your usual theme, or your favorite hero's (or villian's) greatest adversary.

I'd also like to have a Spiderman contest when the movie comes out.

I only change my avatar when I participate in contests, and since I've only been involved in one so far that gives me a grand total of two avatars. I'll be going back to my original one when this Valentines contest is over.

Well, made a new avatar. Didn't take very long, but it was a complete ....pain in the neck.... to make it into the size requirements. Here's the original picture (Hehe, you can tell I got lazy around the neck):

The eye makeup is a little too heavy, but I had to do that for the eyes to show up.... resizing it to such a small size really wrecks everything ^_^'

Well, you should know you can't change your avatar in the middle of voting. I'm sorry that Calhoun07 can't get his avatar back, but the fact that you choose not to change yours because you're too stubborn to admit you were wrong is just pathetic. I would agree that the personal attacks are also uncalled for. They are just avatars, people. In a week or so, we will all have different ones anyway, so what does it matter?

I've even tried looking thru all my temporary internet files for that avatar. If I can find that ad again (it was on ebay) then I will put the dancing avatar up. Another thought I had is if in the chance I win (and being one out of over sixty, I wasn't holding my breath!) I won't have it available to give to Maxie to post in the winners thread! :(

alll right. Everybody calm the heck down. It's not that big of a deal. The 2 avatars were DIFFERENT. True, it was only by an "S", but it was different. It was humorous.

And, even if you did read the thread wrong naraht, it's that big of a deal. Like you said, all those who wanted to vote, probably already have.

And yes it is possible to crop the avatar in the exact same spot. How do I know? I've done it before myself. The EXACT same spot. Plus, I remember seeing the full image of that batgirl with the S on it. Maybe he wanted to "clone" you, who cares? It's not that big of a deal.

Now then...back to the REGULAR, FRIENDLY commenting on avatars.

And that really sucks cal, about loosing the avatar.. :(

Wow, I'm really sorry to hear that Maxie. Universities have been really treating their profs like crap in recent years. Ever since the corporate mindset took over, tenure has been getting scarce. Of course, I'm sure you knew that.

The whole world is here (http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/image/0011/earthlights_dmsp_big.jpg). It takes forever to load so be patient. (And it might stop loading at one point. I don't know why.)

niice...I see where it stopped loading at one point...lol. Once this finish's downloading..I think I might resize it....I could always use new desktop wallpaper... :)
