View Full Version : Who is your favorite Transformer?
BLACKHEART

My favorites were Megatron, Starscream, and Galvatron. I liked all of the jet's. Sky Warp, Thundercracker, Dirge, Thrust and Ramjet.
The quality of the cartoon really went down south after the movie. I enjoyed some episodes, but for the most part they should have never tried to make such radical changes. The Headmaster thing kind of ruined it for me. They were too involved with different aliens and not the Transformers we all loved.
As far as Beast War's I liked Inferno, Megatron, Terrorsaur, Blackarachnia, Silver Bolt, and Dinobot.
The show really got good in the second season when they started the battle for the Ark.
In Transformers R.I.D I like Sky Byte, Ultra Magnus, and Scourage. Optimus Prime look's really cool in robot mode, but I'm not sold on the fire truck totally.
I've seen some of the Japanese Transformer shows. They were subtitled. I really don't have a favorite. The Lion Prime was cooler than the ape.
So what's your favorite Transformer or Transformer moment?

I don't know which Transformers was which, but I probably picked up on Transformers after most people (like I used to do with about everything else  ) but my favorite was always Soundwave. I had one of the smaller figures that didn't transform of him, but I think I sold it. :(

The Soundwave action master? I hope you sold him for a lot cause for some reason the action masters are worth a great deal of money.

Favorite all-time Transformer, no contest: Dinobot.
Dinobot: "The rodent's words give off the stench of truth. A deed once done cannot be undone, but it might be mitigated."
Tarantulas: "Never turn your back on a spider. They tend to be venomous!"
Dinobot: "But they still SQUASH!"
Dinobot: "Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly, the ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly. The rest... is silence."

Well, what a hard question to ask. I really can't just break it down to one. I'm gonna have to divide them up here.
Generation 1 pre-movie: Autobot- Jazz A race car and voiced by the late Scatman Carothers!
: Decepticon- Megatron Really a reason needed?
: Combiner- Devestator
Generation 1 after movie: Autobot- Kup I loved the concept of an old Transformer. Arcee is a close second. This introduced us to female Transformers.
: Decepticon- Scourge and The Sweeps After all, in the storyboards to TF: The Movie, they quartered Ultra Magnus rather than blowing him up like in the movie. The decision to shoot and blow him up was made after they animated the Junkions putting Ultra Magnus back together. We do see them putting his arms and legs back in. If you look at The Sweeps as they are "shooting" UM, those are the laser whips that were to be used to attach to UM arms and legs. That was also animated before the decision. The unofficial decision on it was it looked too violent.
Beast Wars: Hands down, Rampage. Simply one bad dude. I really loved the voice for him too.
Beast Machines: Didn't like the series at all.
Robots In Disguise: Scourge Other than the color and the fact he turns into a oil truck, as close to an Optimus Prime look a like since G1! For the combiners I really loved Ruination . Megaoctane's voice really sounds Decepticon like. I don't know, it just sounds really cool. Out of all the voices for RID, Megaoctane's is the best.
I literally cannot wait for the Generation 1 comic coming out in April. Pat Lee's artwork will do G1 justice!

Omega Supreme is the best.

My favorite G1'ers are as follows:
Huffer: My very first Transformer.. he holds a special place in my heart. :)
Mirage and Inferno: For some reason a lot of the minor players really appealed to me.
ANY of the cassettes. :)

Favorite G1'ers - Optimus Prime - this was always my favorite character as a kid, followed closely by Jazz. My favorite villain was Megatron followed by Soundwave and Shockwave. Favorite combinor - Devestator.
Transformers the movie and after - Hot Rod, I always thought he was cool and Rodimus Primus was awesome. I would say Kip and Ultra Magnus were close seconds. Villains - Galvatron, altho Unicron was kewl.
Beast Wars - Optimus Primal and Dinobot. Villains - Waspinator and Megatron.
Beast Machines - Optimus Primal, Cheetor and Megatron. Altho Tankor was pretty kewl.
RID - Optimus Prime (anyone notice a pattern yet) and Ultra Magnus. Villains - Megatron and Scourge.
Can't wait to see the new comic though.

My all time favorite TF is definitely Kup, but he's followed very closely by Unicron.
PRE-MOVIE GEN 1:
--Optimus Prime - you just can't beat this guy. I mean, come on, he's the Optimus Prime.
--Megatron - bordering on insanity, and completely ruthless. Ya gotta love that.
--Shockwave and [/b]Soundwave[/b] - cool designs, cool voices, cool toys.
GEN 1 MOVIE & POST-MOVIE:
--Kup - like I said, my favorite of them all. I just loved the old grizzled war vet character when I was a kid. It was so cool to have this old TF that knew all these great stories, and had the experience that the newer younger guys didn't.
--Arcee - the first female TF character. Need I say more?
--Blurr - I loved his vehicle design, because it was so radially different at the time - the first real Cybertronian vehicle design for a main character.
--Galvatron - Megatron becomes even more powerful and more insane, which just made him all that much mroe cooler.
--Scourge and the Sweeps - like Blurr, these guys had that really cool Cybertronian vehicle mode that I loved so much, and something about Scourge's presence just rang out with evil - maybe it was that facial "hair".
--Unicron - the baddest of the bad. Awesome design, awesome voice (in the movie anyway), awesome power. What is there to not like about this guy?
BEAST WARS:
Black Arachnia, Dinobot, and Rampage.
BEAST MACHINES:
Maximals: Cheetor
Vehicons: Tankor
I didn't follow RiD very closely - it kinda lost my interest. But I guess my favorite from that one would be Scourge.

G1 : I remeber likeing the Dinobots alot...I'm fairly sure I had the action figures...
BW: Definately Rattrap. "We're all gonna die" is one of my favorite catch phrases...
BM : Megatron....cause, well, he's the only one who didn't change 2389 degrees from what he was.
T:RID : I dunno, I'm very blase on that series...

I just bought the little Scourage figure the other day. He's only a couple of inches tall.
Scourage and the Decepticons make the new show. If you watch the episodes before they arrived, they were good, but not that good. It was a lot humor. Still is a lot of humor. I just think they improved the storylines.
Rampage in Beast War's would have been a lot better if he was a rogue and stood alone against both sides. There was a key episode that didn't get produced because it was too "adult" that explained why the new Dinobot remembered what he did in Nemesis part II even thought he was made from part of Rampage's spark.

Galvatron was cool in the movie; he was afterall voiced by the immortal Leonard Nimoy. in the series, he was a complete idiot with not sense of leadership.

Soundwave was so damn cool, it was scary. I liked Starscream a lot too, mainly because of the fact that even though his main goal in the entire series was to kill Megatron & take over the Decepticons, he always did exactly what Megatron told him to do. Whinl little brown-noser.

Umm, few revisions...
You put Predicons instead of Maximals...
And then Decepticons instead of Predicons...
and Insecticon was infact...Waspinator (if I read you correctly)

Let's See...
My favorites are:
Wreck-Gar (because he's voiced by Eric Idle)
Kup
Grimloc
Megatron (when he was a gun. That whole "we have to be politically correct and change him into a plane" thing just ruined the character completely. You just knew that something big was going to happen when he turned into the gun.)
Unicron

I always liked the Mega- transformers..
Sky-Fire
Metroplex
Optimus prime (Including Optimal Optimus)
Omega Supreme
But characer-wise, I always Liked Jazz, Prowl, Brawn, and most of all Ironhide.

Soundwave kicked tail. I liked whenever he ejected a bunch of tapes to do his work.
Exatron
03-14-2002, 11:21 PM
G1 Autobots: Perceptor and Wheeljack
G1 Decepticons: Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, Cyclonus
Nearly the entire cast of Beast Wars
Vehicons: Thrust and Jetstorm
BM Maximals: Botanica. Her beast mode may be nearly identical to her robot mode, but the idea of plant-based altmodes is interesting.
RiD Cons/Preds: Sky-byte and Scourge
Kal-el

I'm still very loyal to the pre Beast Wars transformers.
Favorites include:
Prime
Prowl (always one of my favorites)
Cliffjumper (the rare yellow Cliffjumper was my first TF toy)
Sky-fire/Jet-fire (the animated version was cool, with the double-barrelled laser cannon, even though he was a different size every episode...and the toy, though very different, was very cool and well constructed, and could double for a Macross saga Veritech fighter from Robotech)
Megatron (pure evil, even though the toy sucked)
The Decepticon jets
The Dinobots (a kick-ass group of Autobots)
Rodimus Prime

Hound, I recall was one of the great many transformers with an exceptionally tiny head. His was particularly memorable. Tiny, I say! Tiny!
He was quite popular character in the 'toon I recall - despite his demise in the Movie...

Everyone bit the bullet in the movie. I think Iron Hide's death was my favorite. It was a prime example of how cool Megatron is.
"Such heroic nonsense" BLAST!
Got to love it.
Speaking of good toy's, Prowl was another one that looked really good.

G1: The ones that started them all....
AUTOBOTS:
Optimus Prime. Ever since I was a mere girl, I imagined--along with my brother--some semis pulling up as OP. Yep, a big rig with a square red cab could at any moment transform into a robot to blast a suspicious jet out of the sky....
Jazz. Like the voice.
Dinobots. They're the DINOBOTS! Dionsaurs and robots fused into five perfect beings. [okay, Machinedramon comes in a close second....]
Skyfire. Tall, white, and gorgeous....
Omega Supreme. The Superior reason to like Autobots. Where was HE in the Movie?
Brawn. Cool for a little guy.
The others were alright...post-Movie ruined Bumblebee.... :(
DECEPTICONS
Soundwave. Look at my name; look at my name. Cool voice, nifty powers, great design/color scheme, unique transformations, past shrouded in mystery, and one of the few to have survived the Movie in his original format. And...those tapes. Laserbeak and Ravage alone are worth the price of admission. Considering the way he handles animal types...give him a digimon already. [preferably a Stingmon.]
Megatron. Another Frank Q. Welker success story. Gun mode. See episode where Brawn runs into Soundwave holding Megatron. They are a deadly duo. Megatron has that power over matter/antimatter. Megatron makes no apologies for blatant cheating.
Starscream. I miss Chris Latta. Invincible, he's the only one to survive the trip from 2D to 3D. Not entirely intact.
Thundercracker. That sky blue was perfect. I miss him. Drat that planet-muncher.
And favorite gestalt/combiner...I'll let the Boys in Green say it themselves:
Scrapper: Constructicons, Phase One!
[Constructicons transform.]
Scrapper: Phase Two!
All Con-Cons: Merge into...DEVASTATOR!
Where's that sound file of the REAL D-Reaper saying one of his best lines?
["Prepare to meet your doom. NOTHING can withstand the might of...." - DEVASTATOR]
He was the first and the best of the combiners in TF:G1. Even his name shows exactly what threat he poses to his enemies. Finally, Devastator has an origin story that links with one of my favorite Autobots; making for one of the best TF eps of all time. [and featuring a monster usually seen only in Gojira movies.]
:: I think the ep's name is "The Revenge of Omega Supreme", but I dub it..."The Moth That Ate San Francisco". This ep is also a source for contention among those in the TF fandom. ::
==
BW:
Rattrap, Dinobot, Tigatron.
==
BM:
...
Moving on.
==
RiD:
...to be honest, it might be a cartoon that young robots watched back on Cybertron. :D

Awaiting ARMADA. Only Toonami. Get Peter and Frank on the series, and we're in business.

Peter has always stated that he wants to voice Optimus Prime again. He talked about a bond he feels with the character after doing him for so long. He wanted to do the RID series, I forget the reason it didn't come to be.
