If any members of Justice League's development team happen to come through this board PLEASE fans WANT a backstory for what happened to Kyle Rayner and Rich Fogel's indifferent comment on his appearence does a great disserveice to long time fans, like we were not important. I am aware that John Stewart was put in for diversity as your development team has said it themeselves. While I don't appreciate ditching someone just becuase of their race no matter what race that may be, I can accept this move as I can see there was a lack of diversity, BUT PLEASE GIVE A BACK STORY TO HIS REPLACEMENT IN SEASON TWO. I have been following these shows since I was a young child and do not appreciate WB wanting us to forget facts, you don't have to be slaves to continuity as you have said, but it's not THAT hard to follow certain things and still make it easy for new fans to understand....continuity is important to me to an extant and your team said it was to them too, but frankly it hasn't been to apparent in the first season, please consider this.

I just want Amazo, Braniac, Dr. Destiny, and Despero. And ofcourse more of the Shade, Solomon Grundy, and Luthor and the Joker. I personally DON'T want to see Kyle Rayner.

You mean to tell me that you don't think we are owed a better explanation than "they would all be white and that just wouldn't be right?" I like John, but I want an ANSWER, I greatly appreciate their hard work and Justice League is a fantastic entertaining series, but even though they are the ones that make the shows, do they really have a right to alter continuity and change solid continual series history just to make it more diverse? Just becuase it's a new show does not mean it can dissavow solid facts from it's past shows and frankly if I were African American I would be offended that they put John in just because he's black and not because he's a cool hero with a bad ass attitude. I am sure it was probably an order from the upper hands at WB to put in more diversity, but I still don't appreciate a replacement of Kyle Rayner who I thought was really cool in STAS, with out a story given to explan the change of GLs.

As a huge fan of S:TAS, I also would like a backstory involving Kyle Rayner. Hell, I would love to see Hal Jordan. I sure wish Sinestro was part of the Injustice Gang. It would be cool to see the unimaginative John Stewart go toe to toe with a real challenge.

Well, the answer is yes. It's their show and they can do whatever they wish with it. STAS was a different show, there is no continuity between the two. If the creators want to throw the hardcore fans a little continuity bone every now and then (like Superman's trust line in Secret Origins) that's fine but they are not bound by it.

The John Stewart/team diversity issue has been argued ad nauseum on this board and I will not rehash it.

Honestly I just don't think that Kyle's fate is that big a deal. He was one of thousands of Green Lanterns, and while he may not be on Earth we have a GL who is as/more competent in John.

This problem has great potential to make a storyarc in season 2. There are endless possibilities to explain this and have a great plot at the same time. Basically, "In Brightest Day" Abin Sur dies, and Kyle gets the ring to my knowledge with a fun story along the way. JL just needs to explain why John wasn't there before, why he is now, and why Kyle isn't there anymore. Possibly because of "mistakes" that either of them made to get them exiled from this sector, Kyle may have felt that he wasn't truly a GL and wanted a regular life (but ultimately decides to return, occasionally appearing as a "guest star" on JL), John was on an extremely involved mission in outer space for a lengthy period of time, and it was resolved and Kyle left for some reason, John and Kyle may be alternating on this "huge mission" that the JL may eventually tackle, etc.

This would also be a good place to address the difference in John and Kyle's ring usage. If they decide not to resolve this "mission", they could alternate each season. I like both GL's, although they sharply contrast each other in terms of ring use and personality. They could have an interesting story and a continutity "explanation" in one well-written storyarc. After watching BTAS, STAS, and BB i know they have the talent to develop these complex, yet somehow simple and elegant stories.

EDIT: I'm kind of familiar with the lantern corps, Sinestro would be fun.

In S:TAS continuity, Abin gave Kyle the ring, even though I'm sure you know that damn well and are just teasing us. :)
