is it worth getting? I've seen it on the shelf a few times and thumbed through it, as did my bud. Neither of us were that impressed with the drawing of it though. It seems like the art gets worse and worse as it goes along. The Dark Knight Returns and DK2 had really great art I thought, and DK2 #2 seems like a bit of a let down. Still, should I pick it up anyways?

not only is it good story, but it is an investment. the whole series may go up in value like the dark knight returns.

Personally I'd wait until TPB rather than pay the inflated cover prices on em now. However, if you're a big Frank Miller (I'm not but it sounds like you might be) you may want to grab it now. I've heard some complaints on the declining art myself but I can't say from experience. Miller's art never really grabbed me anyhow, even at its best.

It's crap. Total crap. Frank Miller is a GREAT writer, but in DKSA, Miller makes a mockery out of the heroes we love. And the art...that isn't "stylized". That isn't "experimental". That's "lazy".
There are...a few decent moments, but he makes Batman a murderer...he makes J'onn J'onn a weak, morally bankrupt drunk...
Too many characters crammed into one story. It's DCU RETURNS TO NET FRANK ANOTHER MILLION, not THE DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN
I hate this book. I HATE it.
I don't care how it ends.

Thanks for the responses. When I flipped through it, I just paid attention to the art, but next time I'm going to see what I think of the story myself. Still, even though I just love Miller, I'm thinking of just waiting till it comes out in TNB for a lower price then how much I'll get ripped off by each one seperately. I hope the artwork is better in the third one.

Lol.
When the TPB comes out, they'll add "conceptual art" that we've already seen, and a blurb from Frank Miller, and some character sketches we've already seen, and jack up the price.

This book is no where close to the quality of the first run. The art is sub par the story is wandering and doesn't seem to have any real point. I'll give the first run all the credit in the world as one of the top 5 books of all time. Dk2 has been a let down from the first moment.

No, DK2 is not the groundbreaking story DKR was (and is). But I kinda like it that way. People were really expecting this to be on par on the "Groundbreaking" scale that DKR was. Instead, we got an absolutely insane story that was just really, really fun. It's not what I would use if I was pointing out the literary value of comics, but if someone was just looking for a really fun story, this would be one of the first I would point to (right after IMPULSE, of course!).

Me? I liked it. Very much! The artwork was great, especially the scenes with Ray Palmer (pre-rescue) and the presence of the JLA in the DKR universe is fantastic.
The truth about Supe's and WW's sex life was an added bonus :o :D
