For REAL lovers of Ub Iwerks...

For anybody out there with beaucoups of bucks who loves Ub Iwerks... In a few days Ebay is going to conduct a "live auction" of a passel of the Gran' Pop monkey stuff supplied by the original cartoonist to Ub's studio in 1938. These appear to have been the presentation ideas by cartoonist Lawson Woods, but can't tell for sure from the listing. Regardless, the Iwerks Gran Pop monkey stuff is mega-rare (only three cartoons were ever completed). The catch you say??? Oh yeah, the catch... The OPENING BID is set to be $5,000 !!! My birthday is coming up in July!!! :p

Nope, not poor little me!! I have several pieces by Ub (and crew) from Flip the Frog and the Columbia days. I WAS hoping somebody would surprise me with the Gran' Pop stuff ;) The most I ever spent for anything was vastly below the opening bid for that Gran' Pop collection... Now if anybody could help me figure out what to do with this original production cel of one of the Fantasia centaurettes...
