There's a new marketing tie-in coming between Wal-Mart and "extreme sports"... Here are the details taken from here (http://www.adweek.com/adweek/headlines/advertising_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1391361):

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Warner, Wal-Mart Go to Extremes

Warner Bros. Consumer Products on April 17 begins a Wal-Mart blessed, five-month, 18-city extreme sports tour. The "Taz Atti-Tour" will feature professional skateboarders, inline skaters and bicycle motocross auteurs performing at store parking lots and meeting fans.

Each locale will be branded with WB Looney Tunes characters, including Bugs Bunny and the Tasmanian Devil, Taz Atti's partial namesake (with the "Atti" part shorthand for "attitude.")

The competition tour will let kids meet the extreme sports' top dudes, get autographs and do other teen stuff at the event's traveling skatepark. The tour opens in Sacramento, Calif., includes a July 31-Aug 4 stop at Chelsea Piers in New York, and ends on Sept. 7 in Richmond, Va.

Wal-Mart is loaning its prime parking lot real estate to each event's initial weekday buildup before "Taz Atti" moves to local entertainment venues for the event's weekend portion. Tour includes a "Taz team challenge" of amateur extreme skaters.

The Aggressive Skaters Assn. is producing.

Wal-Mart support will include in-store signage, tour announcements, posters and POP, Warner executives said. Dedicated front-of-store displays of tour merchandise are planned, with Wal-Mart greeters and workers sporting tour buttons.
