Tonight at 7PM we see what marks the end of one of the greatest cartoons of the past decade. I am of course talking about Ed Edd N Eddy. It is also the last Cartoon Cartoon living at this point but tonight the Cartoon Cartoons will become extinct. Anyway this thread is here to commemorate Ed Edd N Eddy and for all of Toon Zone to share some of its most vibrant memories from the Ed's scams around the coldesack. (Note: I have already seen Ed Edd N Eddy's Big Picture Show from a website online. Unfortunetly now that site is closed.)

I have no idea where to begin. I have so many memories of the show. I think I will come back once I watch the movie tonight with some.

Well, my only memorie of it was The Best Day Edder Marathon. It was a 24-hour Ed Edd N Eddy marathon in April 2007. Danny Antonnuci himself hosted it, and in the bumpers, he even gave out his e-mail address! And at the end, the (actual, before the Big Picture Show) last episode of Ed Edd N Eddy. I watched almost all of that marathon.

I always loved how Ed - during any given scam - would recite his "lines" or orders he was given verbatim, the exactly same way Eddy would tell him too, even if it included an insult that obviously want a part of the "line".
"Show him how it works, lumpy!"

I discovered this show back in 2000, and in a time when every other cartoon on television was a preachy morality play about "AVERAGE" junior high/high school kids in "AVERAGE" situations, it was a much-needed breath of fresh air to see a cartoon about kids just being kids. Even if two of them were an idiot and a money-grubbing weasel.
I particularly loved episodes with the Kanker sisters. I enjoy a good love chase.

I recently found out that this show started in 1999, which surprised me, because I thought I had been watching it since at least '96 or '97 lol.
Each of the characters are so different and they're all so eccentric and crazy, and that's one of the things I love about the show. They're all so memorable for very different reasons (even Plank is supremely memorable!).
I don't have a specific memory that could be classified as a favorite, but I'll always remember their obsession with money (they seemed to get lots of quarters!) and jawbreakers. I remember always wanting jawbreakers when I was younger because I saw how much they loved them. Haha.

Man I can't believe it'll all be over in a few hours. Time to remember. First of all I always loved how they'd break the fourth wall so casually and so often without it feeling forced. Whether it was referencing the art style or the script it always worked well.
And then there's my favorite episode, which always gets a laugh out of me, Mirror Mirror on the Ed. I just love how they played off each other's stereotypes so well.
Ed as Eddy: I have caused discomfort, because I'm Eddy!
I'll do anything for cash, 'cause I'm short.
Edd as Ed: Gravy.
Ed: Come on, Double D, I don't say gravy all the time.
Edd as Ed: Buttered toast, then.
Eddy as Edd: I'm thirsty, quite partial to be exact.
Edd: The word you're looking for is parched!
Ed: Stupid Double D, parched is a fish!
Classic. Here's to EEnE! Thanks for a decade of laughter!

Not only will Ed Edd N Eddy end but Cartoon Cartoons will all be extinct because as we all know Ed Edd N Eddy is the last living Cartoon Cartoon.
I recall around when the show premiered seeing some sort of add for CCF in a magazine or something, and seeing EEnE featured.. I didn't have CN at the time, and was immensely curious as to what the show was, and none of the kids at school knew (it was Kindergarten, so I guess their parents didn't want them watching a show rated Y7)
I also thought Edd was female.
Then a couple years later i FINALLY got CN, and ended up finding EEnE. I instantly thought it was awesome.
Thank god the rumors of a live action movie were false.

I loved this show back in the day. Ed was always a riot, and I felt a strong connection to Double-D as the meek, hapless center to the trademark insanity.

One of my fondest memories of the show is when I watched a marathon of back to back episodes of of it and The Powerpuff Girls, the name of the marathon escapes me at the moment...
I'd never miss a new episode, to this day I have memories of going to visit my aunt, and there they'd be, the Edboys on CCF, brand new! You could always count on them to have another wacky scam up their sleeves! You could count on Eddy to be the loudmouth, Edd to be the voice of reason, and loveable Ed to just go along with whatever hair-brained scheme they'd cooked up that week.
I hope this isn't the end of the road for those Edboys, but even if it is, they had a good run, didn't they? ten years, wow... I salute you, Edboys!

Yeah I remember that too. I think it was the "Girls Voice Boys" Marathon that had 8 hours of PPG and EEE eps interspliced the narrator's comments on what would happen if the two groups fought or something. I believe it was one of the first EEE marathons, and ironically today is probably going to be one of the last.
I am glad that EEE is actually ending with a definite movie ending. It's been talked about for a lot of shows (Cough cough Samurai Jack) but it hasn't actually been seen for most, especially of the older cartoon cartoons like EEE. I also note that unlike PPG's 10th anniversary, Ed Edd n Eddy actually have had "new" episodes out every year of their run on cartoon network (except 2000, the second year they were on ironically) due to how spaced out the 4th and 5th seasons of the show are. Anyway there are a lot of good moments of the show to go over and I hope for the Ed boys sake the movie ends with them coming out on top. Since it only happens a few times in the actual show.
BTW notice how all the episodes in the Big Picture show marathon have segments that are relative in some way. Like how they have the Flashback episode and the Clip Show episode in one half hour.

I loved the camera episode:
Sarah's gone mad!
Victor's gone mad!
Kankers: We're gonna make you pretty! We're gonna make you pretty!
Then there was the time when Ed moved into Rolf's shed:
Rolf: You have broken the back of the son of a sea urchin! [Something like that]
Eddy: What did he say?
Did anyone remember the one with the boomerang that had the power to bring out the opposite side of the Eds? Eddy being... nice. Ed being smart. And Double-D being all mellowed out.
BTW the way, The EEnE/PPD marathon was called BoyGirlBoyGirl Marathon.
Somehow though, I got bored of the show when they went to school, but I went back to see what I missed.

Same here, although it was nice to see an additional setting besides the cul-de-sac, trailer park, and the dump. And some of the newer episodes weren't bad at all, but just I didn't watch a lot of them.

I've watched the show since the beginning, and it has become one of my favorite shows on Cartoon Network. I remember all the ads they used to played leading up the premire, and when it started out, I thought "It's alright". It dd start off a bit slow in my opinion, but picked up later on and got much more funnier.
Ed, Edd, n Eddy was a show that had great animated, lovable characters, and great laughter, and it will certainly hold a place in my cartoon memories. It's sad to see such a long running show come to end, but it had a great ending nonetheless.

Honestly, I had a slight crush on Double D. What can I say, I dig smart, timid guys!
There's that one episode where Johnny and Plank did their "Penny Dance." I laughed so hard at that. Anyone remember the name of it?
Johnny: Penny, penny, who's your penny?
And that classic episode where the Eds switched places for a day.
And that one episode where they built that city!
And so much more...I'm gonna miss this series, and the Cartoon Cartoon era I grew up with and held dearly to my heart.

When I first heard about Ed, Edd, n Eddy, I was vacationing on the South Carolina coast in the summer of 1999 and saw a promo of the show. My cable company in my hometown did not carry Cartoon Network yet so this was brand new to me for a channel that also had Dexter's Laboratory, The Flintstones, and Scooby Doo. The animation was rather odd reminding me of somebody on caffeine and drawing at the same time. Part of the promo was from Pop Goes Ed where the duo's swimsuits snapped off while attempting to a stunt to attract attention at the pool party. I thought it was rather risque. The first episode I saw was from Avast Ye Eds where the Eds start a boat tour only to have the boat (large inner tube) to be attacked by the Kankers sisters. My mother was not happy about me watching this show and demanded me to change it even though I backed my defended the channel (Cartoon Network) in a positive way. I think the show was below of Space Ghost Coast to Coast, but above from Cow and Chicken and I Am Weasel in mature oriented situations before [adult swim] began. As time progressed, the show became tamer in my opinion especially after my cable company got Cartoon Network in the fall of 2001. It must have been the promo I first saw.

Ed, Edd, n Eddy was like a landmark of my childhood. Other shows came and went (or went down the toilet; Spongebob), but EEnE was always there and never changed for the worse. I'm so glad that such an insane, bold show lasted as long as it did. 10 years of Ed, Edd, n Eddy wasn't nearly long enough, but at least they didn't overstay their welcome.

I've been with this show since the beginning. When I first saw it air, it was pretty weird, yet intriguing so I stayed with it. Which was a good choice as the show definitely improved in some ways. I will always enjoy that the show had what's possibly the best animation of all the CN originals, and just reveled in the fact that it was a cartoon. Laws of physics were broken, the fourth wall got broken. And I have never seen so much cartoon violence before, as everyone got an equal chance of getting smashed and bashed, and I thought it was the funniest thing ever.
My only complaint with the show is that it suffered from Flanderization (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Flanderization), where all the characters quirks became enveloped the characters to the point where almost no one was likeable. This hurt the Eds the most, which led to people to wonder why Edd would hang out with Ed and Eddy in the first place. When people wonder that now, I just look back at the early episodes and remember how well they used to get along.
The movie was phenomenal, as it sent off the entire show with a bang, as they all got developement, and was filled with all the slapstick I love.
So...yeah. Ed, Edd n Eddy is one of my favorite cartoons of all time. And I'm glad it had a great finale.

Speaking of which, I think that was the best thing about the movie: it had to keep them NEAR the personalities they had left off with, to keep it from seeming jarring and out of canon, but everyone is progressively deFlanderized as the movie continues, clearing up all the emotions that had been building up between the characters in the past few seasons and getting them back to their simple, gray-area beginnings. I mean, for the first time since, like, the first episode, I actually felt like Kevin could believably be a child!
The storyboarder responsible for most of those scenes was actually a fan of the show for a long time before she got the job, so she noticed that the characters were falling apart and forced AKA to wake up and put the characters back together (you can see the Eds working together more near the end of season 5 and the few episodes after that).

I remember when the show first came out, I thought it looked stupid (in my defense, season 1 is by far the weakest IMO). I also thought Double D was a girl. It wasn't until summer of 2000 when my brother started watching it, I began to like it too. I didn't really become a major fan until 2001 when they started coming out with more new episodes.

my memories of the eds huh, well my 1st impression of them, I didn;t really know what to think, But after a few weeks I came to love the series, & watched it religiously for years, around 2005 I had lost my interest in the series somewhat but still watched every new episode they premired. and loved the eds till the end (wich I guess was last night.)
I know alot of people gave the series guff, but it was a great slow, a slice of life comedy with intersting characters and slap-stick comedy reminescent of old school toons, It was a show about somthing we can all relate to, Kids being kids, the good times, the badtimes, the adventures, the boring days and the social akwardness we feel for most of our lives.
Ed,Edd,N Eddy was a great show & I'm sure it will go down in the anials of animation history as one of the best!:anime:
& now I eagerly await for CN to release the rest of the series (& the rest of other Cartoon Cartoons for that matter) ON DVD. and the shows iminent move to the BOOMERANG network, so it can join its friends, Dexter, PPG, Jack, johhny courage , & Cow & chicken.
....VIVA LA EDS!:D

Ed ftw! My favorite episode was when Ed turned into a monster and stuck everyone to his wall with chunky puffs. If you've ever seen that halloween special with emily osment I have to think they based that entire monster off of this episode. I also loved all the melon head episodes and the city episodes. Johnny, Rolf et al, all great characters, I loved how much Kevin hated them and how his bike was like a muscle car. The best thing bout the show was the ridiculousness of it all breaking down the 4th, wall crazy schemes we all tried to imitate, cartoon violence unparalleled by nothing except Tom and Jerry. In no other show have I seen someone been smashed with a house, car, shed, swing set or washing machine. I love this show!!!

Me and my friend used to love watching this show together. We even came up with our own finale for the show, something involving the cul-de-sac group going back to school and Eddy having a crush on the teacher. We also had some idea to finally show their parents at a parent-teacher conference. It was crazy.
I'm gonna miss it, but I can't say I really cared for the later seasons.

As much as I love Ed, Edd and Eddy, for some reason you rarely see me going on about how great it is. I have no idea why. Probably because by the time I was a daily member of this forum new episodes of the show were few and far between.
So here i am saying a few words about one my absolute favorite children's cartoons of the past decade, second only to the almighty sponge.
Ed, Edd and Eddy was just an amazing, balls-to-the-wall, masterpiece. It started off rough - and indeed the first season is tough for me to watch now - but the dang thing picked up steam fast and just charged ahead, getting better and better with each passing episode. The show wasn't afraid to exploit the fact that it was a cartoon and just tore loose with the squash and stretch; flattening, expanding, pulverizing and annihilating it's characters, never sticking to stock poses and always filling every corner of the screen with movement. And with each season it upped the ante, so by the end of it's run you could have a sequence like the opening car chase from last night's movie, where things are going fast and furious with multiple characters moving independently of each other. The kinetic energy of Ed, Edd and Eddy was absolutely insane.
Someone earlier mentioned the "Nedification" of the characters? While I agree that Eddy just got nastier, Ed just got stupider, Jimmy just got fruitier and Rolf and Johnny just got stranger, the exaggeration of the characters was (IMHO) needed just to keep up with the frantic energy of the plots and animation. So at the end of the day I really didn't mind. And besides, certain characters did improve over time. I liked Kevin, Nazz and the Kankers much more towards the end then I ever did in the first few seasons and I'm really glad that the writers broke out of the predictable "we don't know how to end this so let's bring in the Kankers" formula before I became sick of Marie, Lee and May. And it goes without saying that this show wouldn't have been half the show it was without Edd, who is truly one of the most interesting and inspired cartoon characters I've ever seen in television animation. Compare the Edd from season 1 to Edd we all watched last night. Night and day. Amazing.
I could go on and on. You have that unique soundtrack. The jazzy musical score combined with the insanely creative use of sound effects offered a listening experience unlike any other show I could think of. Same deal with the voices, each one fitting the characters perfectly and each one growing along with them. As the art style gradually got more confident the poses, designs and expressions became unlike anything I had seen since at least the Carbunkle-animated Ren and Stimpy episodes, maybe even moreso. Eventually the amazing backgrounds and layouts became characters unto themselves. I was blown away by an overhead shot of the school newspaper room in "Truth or Ed", complete with a meticulously detailed printing press. The shot is only seen once and quite briefly, but it's a mind-blowingly well done shot, done (IMHO) only to show off the skills of the crew.
There will never, ever be another Ed, Edd and Eddy, just like there will never be another Simpsons, King of the Hill or Spongebob Squarepants. It was a truly unique cartoon and viewing experience. Shows this amazing only cross our paths once. I discovered this show right at the start, as a sophomore in college. While I know a lot of you were probably kids when this premiered, I also feel that in a way I grew up with this show. And now that it's well and truly over it's just another part of my "youth" that's now behind. All that's left is my main man Spongebob, and who knows how long he's got left.
Farewell Ed, Edd, Eddy, Kevin, Nazz, Rolf, Jonny, Jimmy Sarah, Marie, May, Lee and of course Plank. Thanks for ten years of laughs, scams, summer days, dorks, buttered toast, gravy, chickens and of course lots and lots of jawbreakers.

I may not like Ed Edd and Eddy for many reasons but despite all that I do respect the show. To last as long as it has, how well it did with such a simple concept. It did a good job at that.
I may think it's one of the most mean spirited hate filled shows ever made but that does not matter right now. It lasted a long time, remained a consistent quality for five seasons something many shows far better shows cannot say they have done.
Good bye Ed Edd and Eddy, my old enemy, you might have been filled with hateful spite but I will still have a jawbreaker in your honor anyday.

Haha, yes I am! :D I'm working on a feature length one in the spirit of Bon-Ed. It'll be awful. XD
The female storyboarder is Raven Mollisee (http://mutatingraven.deviantart.com/) but Sibsy did help her on her mission. I feel bad name-dropping, though, because I don't think she likes calling attention to her involvement.
It's not as mean if you get to know the characters. Each character is a different type of neglect case and they all deal with their family's neglect in different ways. Some overcompensate, others lash out. Some express themselves, others hide their feelings. It's really very interesting from a psychological standpoint. Eddy's brother's appearance at the end of the movie was meant to make it clear why Eddy's so violent (not that it wasn't implied several times in the series).
Yeah, it's kind of an even split for me... I get annoyed that there were a lot of interesting ideas for them in the beginning that got oversimplified and made it easy to think the characters were nothing more than a single-trait, but other times this would bring out some really amazing development, even in the characters who were largely hurt by their Flanderization. Eddy, as mean and unruly as he got in the later seasons, was a constant foundation for signs of development, just like Edd, as you mentioned.
There were times where the creators really DID lose sight of what the characters were-- one storyboarder apparently thought of Edd and Eddy as Kyle and Cartman, forgetting that they were supposed to be friends underneath all the conflict.

I witnessed the beginning as well. I anticipated the show due to its unique art style which at the time really stood out from the flat or messy designs the other Cartoon Cartoons were using. I loved it from the beginning, but its strangely never been my favorite of all the classic CN shows. I do remember watching the premieres on Mondays before Raw until they moved the premieres to Friday nights and slowly trickled out the new seasons. It's a shame I missed that PPG/Eds marathon soon after it premiered.
I'm probably in the minority of people who's favorite character is Eddy. He's designed to be a huge slimeball and unlikable to those in the universe and the viewers, but he just...clicked with me. He wanted to accomplish something and did whatever was necessary to do it. He used backhanded tactics, which unfortunately destroyed the trust he had with his customers, but he never gave up. I only wish he had succeeded a few more times than he did.
I also have to admit I'm no fan of the 5th season/autumn episodes. Aside from the unneccasary change in setting, I thought they completely changed the dynamic of the group. It's pretty clear that it became The Edd Show, and his squeky clean, rightous attitude was extremely irritating to me. It was made worse by turning Eddy into an even bigger crook, and a couple characters like Ed and Kevin became charicatures of themselves.
All griping aside, it was still a great cartoon, and probably one of the most memorable to air.
I started watching from the premiere of the very first episode, and lost interest by the time the Eds and co. went off to school - not because I felt it was a bad show, but because I simply had stopped watching Cartoon Network altogether. It was actually a show that was far ahead of its time. Its self-aware sense of humour was unmatched by any other kids' cartoon of the era. It taught me that one plus one equals one on a bun, the best ways to scam pigeons, and that the best food on the planet is buttered toast. It was one of the greatest animated series of all time, and it will be missed.

Good bye Ed Edd and Eddy, my old enemy, you might have been filled with hateful spite but I will still have a jawbreaker in your honor anyday.
Thank you. You have summed up my feelings about this show exactly! :)

Wow, so many memories.... I've watched the show since it debuted back in 1999. Hard to believe it's been 10 years. The show has always been over-the-top funny because of all the stupid stuff the Ed's do. Each character is unique and different like kids are.
I'd say some of my favorite episodes were:
"Laugh Ed Laugh" - Eddy goes insane because all the kids have chickenpox
"Shoo Ed" - Jonny annoys everyone except Rolf who likes the way Jonny acts
"Rock-a-Bye-Ed" - Ed dreams that Johnny is his mother
Ed Edd and Eddy was a really enjoyable show that made me laugh and was always entertaining. Even though the Ed's were always trying to scam the kids, I would always hope it would turn out good for the Ed's because it seemed like they never got to have any jawbreakers.
It's one of the few shows that I watched from beginning to end and I'll miss it but hopefully CN will still show reruns of it from time to time to enjoy again.

I'd like to point out that there were several times they never lost their money, and they did have jawbreakers a few times (most notably in 'Brother, Can You Spare an Ed'). Even in 'Don't Rain on My Ed', when they fail to get to the candy store before it closes on Customer Appreciation Day, they still have all the money from their scam at the beginning of the episode and can just buy jawbreakers the next day (or wait for Jonny to open the door and let them in). The Eds have a tendency of forgetting to actually spend their money, so people miss how often the Eds keep their earnings.

Oh, I almost forgot a great moment:
THAT'S MY HORSE!
My favourite episode is "Hands Across Ed," where they hold a telethon to make money. I think that was probably Eddy's most creative scam. "Once Bitten, Twice Ed," where Eddy keeps reusing the same scam, is a close second.
My least favourite episode is "If It Smells Like an Ed," where the Eds get blamed for ruining Friendship Day even though they weren't there and Jimmy actually ruined it. Something about Jimmy and Sarah laughing at the Eds getting in trouble for something they didn't do grates on me to this day.

I also love the one where they switch places (mirror mirror on the ed i think)
And the one where Eddy duels rolf.
My least favorite has to be the 1st kankers episode. They really had to grow on me and they are still my least favorite characters.

'The Day The Ed Stood Still'.
Oh mannn, so many favorite episodes (season 3 as a whole was fantastic)... When I have to narrow it down, though, I usually say 'An Ed is Born' is my favorite. The characters are so real in it, but still cartoony. ..It's kinda like the movie, actually. Everyone has their own lives and varying personalities.
That episode also contains
Johnny 2x4: How Lucky can you get Plank?, CHUNKY PUFFS!
& a load of spoofs from Alien

I wish Plank had a voice-actor
That would completely ruin his character (as much of a character that an immobile piece of wood can have, anyway). if Plank ever spoke, then that would be definitive proof that he was a living creature. Much of Plank's shtick is that it's never made clear whether or not Plank is actually alive or merely part of Jonny 2x4's weird psyche.

I remember an old EEnE bump where the voice-over suggests that the Eds use reverse psychology and start chasing the Kankers around to get them off their backs.
I didn't think they'd actually use that idea for an episode, but then along came "A Twist of Ed", one of the most hilarious episodes of the series.

Is that the episode where Edd is trying to think, and Ed and Eddy are annoying him, shouting "THINK THINK THINK THINK THINK...!!!" That was one of my favorite moments of the series!

I remember the first ad for it:
"Do you remember your first wedgie?
Your first noogie?
Your first purple nurple?
Or the time your sister embarrassed you in front of all your friends? [shows Sarah beating up Ed]
So do we: Ed Edd, & Eddy, starts _____ on Cartoon Network"
I watched, but it was too slow paced for me. Sort of like the first Space Ghost Coast To Coast. I didn't become interested until Cartoon Planet, and the concept had picked up some pace.
With E E & E, it was the Edternal Summer marathon in early 2001. I liked the marching Planks the ad began with, and wish that had been kept somewhere. That would have made a nice screen saver.
For some reason, before I started watching, I thought Edd was the "cool" kid, sort of like Kevin. There was a bumper showing all three of them giving each other wedgies, and Edd was on the bottom with a sort of "annoyed cool kid" look. But then, they began playing to death this ad showing clips of various episodes. Rolf says "you look so swave", Nazz says "they look cute", the Kankers say "They're so dreamy", and then all of a sudden, Kevin says "Dorks!"; then everyone stares (including Kevin, from another episode), and you see Kevin getting a wedgie. (The one time Eddy ever sucessfully retaliated against him!)
So I started to get the sense of the character dynamic; that this cool kid doesn't like them, and they're always doing silly things. And I found it funny. I always though hagglers were funny charcters, such as Flim Flam from 13 Ghosts of Scooby, or the real life Robert Tilton http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Tilton

I was wondering if anyone else noticed that little goof of Kevin staring at himself after he calls the Eds dorks. When that was running, I would think, "So, Kevin has a twin?" :D

I think there may have been another (or longer) version of that commercial because I remember the announcer saying:
"Remember the kid with braces"
*shows Jimmy*
"Remember when your friends covered you in plastic wrap
*shows the dumpster diving part from Dawn of the Ed"
"Remember when your friend built you a rocket"
*shows Eddy in the rocket Double D built"

I remember those marching Planks! I also remember missing most of that marathon because I had to sell Girl Scout cookies.

I remember I didn't notice the second Kevin until my brother pointed it out:sweat:
AnimatED's avatar reminds me of one of the best lines..
"YOU HAVE VANDALIZED ROLF'S FACE!"
Speaking of Rolf.. He got me in trouble in 1st Grade.
I got a referral-type thing because I went around during class whispering some Rolf quote into kids ears.
I also remember the episode where the Kankers trap the Eds and try to marry them creeping me out a little.

I haven't watched this show in about 5-6 years, but this post inspired me to do otherwise. Amazing, dude! :fox:

I hope you guys don't mind me bumping this thread, but I've been thinking about Ed, Edd, n' Eddy a bit lately and how much it meant to me during the show's run. I was a fan since day one and will continue to remain loyal to it for as long as I can. Calling it my favorite modern cartoon period wouldn't be too far off.
I remember how back in grade school I was a popular artist around my classes. I used to make comics for my friends to read and even had an "agent" to help me make copies of my comics. My original stories weren't too popular, but I also made Ed's comics which they liked more.
I can't find any of my originals(probably weren't very good), but I found some old copies of my EEnE books, and while the stories wouldn't fit the show at all, the art work isn't too bad. I even made a flawless children's book recreation of "Ed-n-Seek" for my first grade class the week after it aired. I think I got an A for that.
I couldn't and still can't draw other people's characters as well as original designs(I even tried a crossover special with another one of my favorites as a kid- Invader Zim- but I couldn't get the designs down as well. I put Zim and Gir on the cover and did a one page story with Gaz and Professor Membrane, but otherwise I had one or two Ed's stories to occupy the book), but I had the Antonucci style down decently enough. I even tried drawing Eddy again earlier today, and it looks fine. Maybe one day when I can get my scanner to work and post some of my artwork up, I can put up some of my EEnE drawings.
I also remember when I went to Atlanta back in Feburary 2007 for one of my sister's dance competitions. We were at a hotel right across the street from the CNN Center, which we went to a few times over the weekend. My favorite part of the place? The Cartoon Network Store.
I loved seeing Ed on top of the place alongside Wilt, the Powerpuff Girls, Dexter and Dee Dee, Amy, Yumi, Lazlo, and Juniper Lee, as well as seeing models of the Kids Next Door treehouse, the Foster's Home, and Dexter's Labortatory(I even got pics of me taken next to the last two). As for Ed, Edd, n' Eddy, there was a display of the candy store with Sarah and Jimmy on top of it, holding water balloons that look like they're about to drop. That actually holded random candy instead of Ed's stuff.
I forget where the EEnE merchandise was sold, but I remember there being more of it then just about any other show there- plushes of the Ed's, T-shirts, bendies set, the DVDs, and other stuff. Even a lithograph, I think from "Dawn of the Eds", maybe? I got a stress ball in the shape of Eddy's head alongside a Dexter's Lab mug(would have got plushes of the Ed's since they were on sale, but they were the ugliest things I ever saw- I could have so made a better looking plush).
There wasn't much merchandise made for the show that you could buy in stores- a couple of games, a couple of DVDs, maybe a tie-in book or two, and that's about it. Seeing all of this stuff dedicated to the show made me happy. Well, there were also those toys made by KB Toys(toilet racers? Really?), but they weren't very good looking in my opinion and my local KB closed before I could have bought them.
I went back to Georgia in October of 2008, and even went back to the CNN Center for a gymnastics show that my little sister who lives in the area wanted to see, but didn't get to go back into the store. I wonder if you can still buy Ed's stuff there.
This was before the Best Day Edder marathon on CN, which is when I really got back into the show. I acutally watched the entire thing just to say that I could, and had a good time rediscovering some episodes I haven't seen in a while. I also got to realize how far the series had grown since it's awkward first few episodes. Even if you don't like the show, watch a season 1 episode followed by, say, a season 4 episode and you can see the difference in quality. I still argue that the show got better as it went along, with the final season being the best, but that's likely a minority opinion.
I wrote something much longer to this extent on my blog, and believe me when I say much longer (http://animrevelationreviews.blogspot.com/2009/11/and-it-only-took-130-episodes-4.html). I haven't known a person to have read it in full but I think it caps off my feelings for the show after the time it's spent on CN. I still watch the show whenever I can and love talking about it, but I think the movie ends the series perfectly.

Read the blog! Pretty nice, I must say. The way you talked about Ed made me get a clearer idea of his personality. I'd even go as far to say that he just doesn't seem like the lights-are-on-but-nobody's-home lovable idiot anymore. He's just an awkward dunderhead; a disconnected kid whose attention only belongs to a fantasy world filled with all the aliens, monsters, etc. that he loves so much. A kid who, as long as he has Double D and Eddy to help guide him, will never have to teach himself proper social skills and other such useful skills. Nope, he can just be a lovable oaf, eat buttered toast and read comics all day.
Something that I can, admittedly, connect with.
Also, on topic of your blog... it really brought back all the good memories about Ed, Edd, n Eddy. Jimmy was one of my favorite characters.
That episode where Eddy babysat him, turned him into a little Eddy and then ultimately betrayed the Eds in the end . Great episode. Great character development. Heck, I love Ed, Edd, n Eddy. I'll miss it.

Only the first two seasons are available in this country on DVD. However, all 5 seasons (except the three holiday specials, the one season 6 episode and the movie) are available on season sets overseas.

I'm glad you mentioned that because that got me thinking: since CN is releasing some of their older shows on DVD, is it a possibility that S1 and 2 might be made more available and maybe the other seasons and Big Picture Show might get DVD releases?
