I was skimming through GOTHAM KNIGHTS #17 when I realized something. Dick Grayson signed the papers to officially become Bruce's adopted son, no longer just a ward. This means when Wayne passe son, Dick inherits everything. I can't believe I missed this milestone!

Cool. It's about time ol Brucie did that. I did like the little touch in 'No Man's Land' when the bat-squad gets together and Dick calls Tim his brother. Kinda gets you right here.

two words:
HE'S RICH!!!!!!
Now he doesn't have to worry about money much if Bruce dies(although it doesn't seem likely, He's had his back Broken and got better).
I doubt that he'll take over as Batman though or he'll have to change his entire mind set.

this brings up something we were discussing on another board: what if bruce did die? it would be an elseworlds sort of story, but it would be cool to see what a world without the true batman would be like....

I agree Dick Grayson, was Gotham Knights #17 overlooked? I thought that story was very heart warming. Devin Grayson is an awesome writer, she seems to bring the humanity into Batman. But did you know Gotham Knights wasn't really supposed to be focused on Batman himself. Devin Grayson intended for Gotham Knights to be about the superheroes revolving around him. That's what she said when I had my brief conversation with her at Wondercon, 2001 CA. In the comics, it just so happened that everyone got mad at him and kinda left Bats in the dust, so now the story is focusing back on Batman.

That's awesome. I think it is cool how the Original Bat Team came comes together as father and son.

That's soooo cool! I don't get to see the Gotham Knights comic often, but that's a huge thing not to know. Thanks for putting the info on the board. So... if Dick and Babs have a kid (if they get married), will that make Bruce a grandpa?

That's cute, but I guess you're right, Bruce would be a Grandpa. I'm wondering.... if Dick and Babs had a kid, what would be a good name for the little rugrat? Also, could you imagine Dick and Babs getting married? Wonder what the wedding would be like?

It would be a wedding packed with DCU all-stars, likely. ...well Canary and Superman for sure. :)
As the name...you think they would name it Bruce?

Hmmm...Alfred? Nah....I think the'd likely name him after someone who has great influence, directly or indirectly, on their lives. Maybe Bruce's dad, Thomas?

I remember Tallant was the name of Bruce and Talia's son in one of the Elseworlds novels.

So are Dick and Babs an item in the comics? I haven't read much in awhile, but it seemed recently like Dick and Helena were together. Is that over or still going?

Dick and Barbara are a couple now, and have been for a few months. Everyone should read Nightwing! It's my favorite Bat-book. Dick and Helena were over by the end of the Nightwing-Huntress miniseries, and some of the foundation for the Dick/Barbara romance was laid in that story.
And what would happen if Batman died? Well, for some of the older readers, we remember stories that answered that question somewhat indirectly. Dick would become Batman and put a big Roman numeral II on his chest insignia and Bruce's young son would become the new Robin! Ah, those were the days <g>.

Well I wonder if Barabra is Capable of Child Birth. she is paralized from the wasted down. It's possible, althought she most like ly not feel any thing from it.
Barb can successfully give birth to a child even if she is paralysed.
I'm to lazy to find the book i read it in, but I know that the muscles will press the baby out weather she has control over her muscle/nerves or not

--it's true. As long as her reproductive organs are healthy and undamaged, she can concieve and bear children. Ironically she might be grateful for her paraplegic condition during that period, as she won't feel the pain--beats epidurals. Though will Bruce let the kids call him "Grampa", is my question.
As for the name of the child, Dick might use one of his late birth parents' names, which escape me for the moment...and James, Babs' father, would make a good middle name for a son.

Let's not shout this TOO loudly - I could see some aspiring DC exec seeing this as another excellent cash raking idea for a special Batman event....
'Yeah, the publicity, the silver coated issue... the merchandise..... yes... YES!... YES!' - Cash Cow DC Exec.
