Was that suppose to be a The Greatest American Hero reference?

Pretty nice twist with Rebecca. The Claire/Gretchen kiss was... meh.
Can't wait for Hiro next week!

Yah every thing except for Claires storyline was great, though with that little plot twist in there maybe hers will get better. Over all good episode.

You know, up until the deaf girl made that huge crack in her wall I was thinking to myself "Lamest power ever."
Putting color to sound is not lame.
However, now she can use it as a weapon. Problem is she needs to carry a sound tool with her everywhere.

A trumpet can be easily concealed
Overall, Heroes is getting better and better. The feeling you get with Redemption is so different from Villains and Generations, which is of course a good thing.
The episode itself was pretty strong. Claire's was slow, but picked up when it turned out Gretchen turned out to be evil, and that one chick was part of "The Family." From the way Samuel was speaking, there's a bunch of nomads roaming the earth, and I suspect they're going to take the world by force when they have enough numbers.
And looks to me Gabriel will finally become that anti hero Kring's been trying to push since Season 2. My guess is Gabriel will develop himself, and be more devoted to Samuel and the others, and at the end Sylar will try to force his identity on Gabriel, and whoever wins will pretty much decide the outcome of the entire season.

lol so true.

gretchen it was the sorority chick although as I was explaining what happened to my brother it seemed pretty lackluster.
This was a good episode but sylar side stories are really annoying I mean can't they just kill him off and let him stay gone for a hefty amount of time and then bring him back like an X-men villian.

Overall Rating: An even better episode that last week but with a few more gripes.
THE CARNIVAL
I loved the breakfast scene. We got a bunch of new, unnamed characters but if you've been reading the graphic novels, watching the webisodes, and playing iStory, they may be cameos of characters you already know.
It only came to me know. But in a recent novel, when Samuel busted Edgar and Lydia for stealing the fortune teller's crystal ball 14 years ago, he mentioned how upset Joseph would be if he found out and that scared them. Then add that with how Samuel is searching for an empath. It's a little ironic because he wants someone with the personality of Sylar but the empathic absorption power of Peter.
At the end when Samuel leads Sylar to the Carnival, it was such a surreal dream state. I thought I had Hysterical Blindness for awhile there! I wonder what's going to happen though. Will Samuel teach him empathy like Arthur did or will IA and the Hunger rise up, inevitably?
SYLAR
Very cool way to go. So it seems the body of Sylar has aphasia and isn't Nathan nor Sylar. Just a blank slate with pieces of memories and a boat load of super powers. And he got busted by Ernie Hudson's character, Captain Lubbock. So cool. When Sylar TK'ed him into the glass, I was like, "Man, the just messed with Winston Zeddmore!" Ghostbusters 3 better be flippin' great.
EMMA
Love this character's progression. We know she's Dr. Coolidge's daughter, there was some accident involving her 6 years ago, she connects with Peter, and her power can be used offensively!
PETER
Just loved the scene between Peter and Angela. Doesn't it sum up their relationship in a nutshell? She's more concerned with Nathan but why, because he's more needy and Peter can take care of himself or she's worried about her latest scheme collapsing?
Also nice little shot of the DNA Symbol. Peter's spare push pins are shaped like it when Angela looks at the board of newspaper clippings. They really need to start talking about that again and not let it suffer the fate of the Numbers on Lost.
CLAIRE
Thank you writers for just plain revealing the three mysteries in Claire's arc. It's a whole lot better than jerking us around for two months. That said, the kiss scene was "meh." So Gretchen isn't a carnie, just a low level stalker. Like that's any better. I much would have preferred Zach from season one to return. He was likeable.
GRIPES
So Samuel had the foresight to plant Becky Taylor into a sorority at Arlington University because he knew Claire was going to end up there? That was a hard pill swallow. However, it's not totally pulled out of their butts. Two weeks ago, a graphic novel established that Lydia's original power was Precognition but when she was playing with the Fortune Teller's prop crystal ball, her manifestation got messed up and now that's how her power works as tattoos. However, during the manifestation, the event she sees is infant Claire in the Kermit fire when HRG and Claude tried to bag Meredith Gordon. So one would think that they knew about Claire's life and Becky was planted just as how Samuel makes the analogy about planting seeds with the next candidates to join the Carnival. So it makes sense but look at how many lines this is!
SPECULATION
So based on the clips they showed, looks like HRG is brought in one Hiro's plight. HRG remembers an old bag and tag from the Company days of a child who had the Healing Touch power and goes to get him. However, looks like paranoia kicked in before puberty. Peter takes Hiro's power and teleports in. Gets shot maybe. The boy, Jeremy (saw it on the file that appears for a second) heals him then either a) Peter teleports him to Hiro or b) Peter takes his power and returns to Hiro with HRG's help. But one thing remains, will they return too late? Does the staff have the balls to kill off a main cast member? I'd wager No on both questions.

I doubt he'll do either.
Giving Sylar the empathy power was stupid and something they seem to have swept under the rug and hope we'll forget about. While giving him 'the hunger' was also idiotic because Sylar already had a sufficient motivation to become a killer. (He's got the desire to be special and believe in survival of the fittest.)
I think Samuel intends to wake up the original Sylar's personality. But instead he'll just end up making him more confused, or Matt will show up again to mess with Sylar's mind. I doubt 'Nathan' is out of the picture.

Putting color to sound is not lame.
It's not even a "power", it's sound-to-color synesthesia. Ventriloquism is closer to a superpower.
Thank goodness that's not what her power actually is, but it was seriously bugging me for awhile.
This Season's definitely a step up from the last one, though the Claire plot screams "ratings stunt".

Tell that to Nathan. Then tell that to Michah's mom and dad, and let's not forget fan favorite Daphne. Heroes historically has no issues killing main cast members, least you forget season one saw the death of the shows first precog.
This season has been awesome. I've liked every season except for the last one..

Actually, Daphne's actress was a guest star, not a main cast member. While Heroes has been decent with killing off members, they haven't really given us a truly startling death. And when I say death, I mean the actor is no longer apart of the show except for maybe a flashback. I think it'd be great if they had the guts to kill of Hiro.

Nathan Petrelli, D.L. and Isaac Mendez were all main cast members. All of them are now currently dead.

True. I actually liked the way the one season was supposed to end with Nathan being shot and killed at podium. But he'e officially dead now, there's no way to bring him back.
I mean using a shape shifter and implanting Nathan's memories is always an option I guess but that's kind of the fun of Heroes being like a comic book.

I think they should have just had the girl do more damage and do something very bad and blame claire for it like going to jail and they could have her in there thinking she really did it for awhile until finally she breaks out finds answers and then the girl reveals what she did. The creators are jumping into their plots to fast just go back to long winding questions and for things that don't really matter should get cleared up fast.

Daphne was a fan favorite? man i thought people hated her (I didn't but) I thought a lot of people did in an interview she was like she couldn't go into a messageboard without people calling her lame.

I meant original main cast members, my mistake. Nathan was destined to die since "Five Years Gone." I think if you count the alternate futures and the present, he died something like 6 times. I prefer he stays dead for good.
In terms of implanting Nathan and that terrible idea, they could have just used a transfusion of Claire's blood to resurrect Nathan or just used Matt to use the illusion aspect of his powers to pose as Nathan. That's more reliable to me than risk keeping Sylar alive.

I wish they'd had the guts to kill off Sylar a long time ago. Hiro... I dunno. He's sort of the show's soul. Be hard to see him go even when he's being poorly written.
