This episode must've been sat on for a while. That's Ricardo Montalban as the dictator!

I thought for a moment they were going to do a Weekends At Bernie's parody.

"I'm okay!!!"

lol I'm enjoying both plots. I think this is pretty interesting. All those people getting killed because of Roger's complaining. o_O

EDIT: The end of Steve and Snot's war. :x

"I can feel your heartbeat"

That and Roger eating the corndog made for a highly disturbing final act.

Definitely the best show of the night this week. Dragged a bit at the start, but once it took off, I thought it was great.

It was alright. I liked the ending and when Rodger abused his power.

Not as good as last week to me.

The Steve/Snot subplot was... okay. Wasn't my favorite, and could've went farther. (I would like an actual showdown between the two.)

Stan/Roger... Eh. Didn't interest me a lot, but it got better towards the end.

As I watched “American Dad”, I was reminded for the second time tonight (first time was during “Family Guy”), why expletives, especially the ones that get censored by a “beep”, are unnecessary on programs such as this, but as the show was coming to an end I was truly enjoying what the show was about in spite of the language when all of a sudden my local station interrupted it for a special weather report concerning the right edge of the broadcast area. The station had weather information on the screen during the previous commercial break and disappeared until later in the third segment of “American Dad”, but the station did the weather report anyway until the commercial break preceding the end credits for “American Dad”.

The stormy weather at the time did not affect the entire broadcast area, yet the station felt the need to interrupt a new episode of a program after providing on-screen information for viewers in the affected areas. The stations in my area interrupt programming so often it’s no longer a surprise for some, but I was surprised again as it affected a show I continue to follow. I wish I could change the ways of these stations instead of waiting 20 or 30 years for any great differences.

I'm not for cussing just for the sake of it but snot's cold "**** you just call me" had me spit my water out.

Exceptionally solid episode tonight. Best bits were...

-Where the Dictator was lying dead on the escalator, the people only elicited reactions where they were exactly parallel to his location.
-Roger not knowing any better as his criticisms and desires for bad things to happen to people came to be.
-The inner tube and the long glass of beer.
-Roger eating the corn dog.
-Dancing Man. Who know he would be such an evil man.

Considering that last scene of them, I don't think they could have taken it any farther. I'm surprised no one's elicited a reaction about that scene yet. It took me a few seconds to get it myself. I didn't even realize why Snot was hanging on the back of the door until Steve said 'I can feel your heartbeat' and realized what was happening.

Another solid episode. More consistent than last week's in some ways, since some of the Vietnam re-enactment sequences wore the running joke a little too thin. Steve's "I can feel your heartbeat" line was a great example of how a joke can be dirty and subtle at the same time, and how in fact the subtlety enhances it.

You're telling me. :p I'm just now getting it and I'm trying to keep from bursting out laughing. Now the reason they realized things had gone too far is quite clear. Yikes.

Me too, I've rewatched the episode and I'm still puzzled about it.

It was predictable how the dictator was going to die. Corndog. Elevator. Dead. I thought he was going die in helicopter shown in the commercials. I found it amusing how roger's critscisms was getting people offed, and Stan moving the signing to tonight. The ending of the episode with the 'Dancer' becoming the most brutal dictator on Isla gave me chuckle.:anime:

The Steve/Snot subplot didn't do much for me...

Stan and Roger... was intriguing, though not much funny from a comedy standpoint. Though I do like the oddness of Roger asking for the entire land to be painted yellow and the innertube ride from the front door right to Roger's sleeping quarters. But Roger was gonna find out the ruse eventually, and yet, it's his actions that nearly get him killed. I would like to say both Stan and Roger have learned a lesson from this... but I doubt it would stick.

Meanwhile, in a second instance of "they're only doing this now" on Animation Domination... one of Steve's friends, in this case, Snot, getting accidental boobage from Francine? So it ends up turning into a one-up contest on each other's moms. Obviously, such a contest is a clear indication of ending in a very un-PC moment... though this time around, it was different kind of un-PC. I also didn't realize what was happening until Snot kinda hinted it at Steve. (For some odd reason, I thought his plan was to brush 'the stuff' against Francine as she came in.)

About on par with last week's episode, but that's enough to edge Family Guy for best show of the night this week. But it was an average week across the board, so it's nothing to write home about.

Kind of sad that this is the last project Ricardo Montalbán was attached to. His appearence in Family Guy was funnier then this... what like two line appearence as the ruler of Isla Island? Besides this is just another one of those plots where Stan has to learn not to take Roger for granted since it was implied in this episode (and not really in other episodes) he's done that a lot and it's wrong and he has to give up the one thing he wanted most to prove that he cares about Roger again and blah blah. Seriously the entire plot of this episode is lame. Like I said last week I am annoyed by AD's lesson structure out of all the Animation Domination shows. Then again at least a Steve-Roger episode is more rare then a Steve-Stan episode, and I did like Roger's demands as emperor including getting everyone to dance, painting over families, and the canal to his palace. And him offing people without even realizing it I guess was kind of funny. Still when you can see the ending (the actual important ending coming) like from 5 miles away then what's really the point of the ep? And also unlike last time the subplot wasn't too good either. I mean I do like Steve and Snot wanting to get back at each other with accidental Mom gropage but it didn't really have a satisfying conlcusion. Just felt rushed in a bad way. Oh well it still adds up to a better episode then last week since they didn't try using as many lame metaphors or something but still American Dad is the weakest show in Animation Domination. Behind the still trying to find it's mark cleveland show and the trade off between Simpsons and Family Guy.
