Built from the ground up! (http://www.gamerbytes.com/2009/09/earthworm_jim_hd_created_from.php)

Apparently the game will include the content from the Sega CD and PC versions, as well.

In other words, this will be the best version of the game available. :D

I was about to say "pass" because I already have the first game for Virtual Console and it didn't seem much different other than better graphics, but then I read about Big Bruty being included. Sigh, OK guys, you suckered me in. :p

Yehaw! Count me in! :p ...wait, it's already on Virtual Console (the original)? Why doesn't anyone tell me these things?! Ah, well. I'll wait for this.

Why are they basing it off the Genesis (Or Sega CD and PC) version? It looks and sounds better on the SNES. I know the Genesis version had an extra level, but still...

Well, it seems like it's going to look and sound better than any version regardless.

If this is how Sega remakes their classic games in HD, you can get a good idea of how Project Needlemouse is going to turn out.

But Sega isn't making this, they're just using the Genesis version as the basis for this remake, especially since that one has one extra level. Gameloft's taking care of this game.

I'm not very optimistic about this, it looks like a Flash game. But I guess its a good thing if they actually do something new with the franchise even if a remake.
The PSP EWJ game looked good but was cancelled, after that they said they wanted to revive the franchise on every platform and that didn't happen..

Anyways as great as the game was it also had some very annoying levels.

Since this is a EWJ topic, anyone ever play the GBC game? Its a good game that almost no one ever played.

And while on topic EWJ 3D is also not as bad as some people make it out to be, the game was rushed and is unfinished and you can tell but it still had a few memorably ideas even if done wrong.

Looks pretty nice. Now, while I am a fan of the pixel art, if the new version can still maintain the playability and fun factor of the original, I'm in.

I wonder if this means that Dan Castellenata will be adding more vocals to the character for this version?

Also, Live Arcade is getting the big push.

I was also thinking that the extra level is why they're basing the remake on the Genesis. I also mentioned before that it's probably also the reason that version was chosen for the Virtual Console over the SNES version.

Also, Live Arcade is getting the big push. I'm confused; is this now only being released for 360? Or is the 360 merely getting the game first, followed by the PS3?

And what's the release date, for that matter? It was originally slated for Q4 2009 and, well, we all know what happened there.

Frequently the 360 version of things seem to leak out earlier. Just like the Sonic 4 footage. I'm not sure why that is.

According to the leaked footage of Perfect Dark back in... Was it November? ... Earthworm Jim HD should be almost done. I'd say it will be out before the summer.

I could see this being one of the "Summer of Arcade" titles.
