The thread where Capcom asks what the next vs. game inspired this thought. Plus I didn't want to derail that thread with my crazy ideas.
I know a lot of people think: "Oh my god, that will be horrible! Disney's too kid-friendly!" But not only is this just an idea, but I think it can actually work and it'll be really awesome. I mean, Japan already loves Disney!
So this thread is just to brainstorm awesome ideas, like characters appearing, stages, ultimate moves what have you.
Maybe down the line I can draw some cool fanart as well
My roster:
Mickey Mouse
Hercules
Aladdin
Goliath (Gargoyles)
Kim Possible (her Capcom opponent could be Sakura)
Mulan
Stitch
Jack Sparrow
Tron
Beast
Elastigirl
Buzz Lightyear
Darkwing Duck

Hmmm....
Alex & Hugo (from Street Fighter III) vs Quasimodo & The Beast!
Quasimodo I can picture being a hybird character like Alex; a mix with grapples and melee attacks. He won't have the power bombs or knee drops, but suplexes and backbreakers could be his main arsenal. Elbow drops is a melee option.
The Beast I can see as more of a melee character than a grappler but hey, didn't stop guys like Daimaou from getting at least one command throw. He's pretty huge and fast, so thrusting attacks and good amount of anti-air attacks will keep him a feared opponent. He's command throw may as well be a Potemkin Buster inspired.
Well, it's a start, so I'm preety sure someone else can make a better moveset for these two guys.
Edit:
While we're at it, I might as well post my roster as well:

I definitely think it COULD work. Disney, of course, doesn't want Mickey Mouse beating the crap out of someone, yet recently - Kingdom Hearts, for example - he's been slicing monsters apart. And they are trying to branch out to more male-dominated industries. Why NOT have a fighting game? Doesn't get more masculine than that.
However, they'd probably haggle down the rating a bit E10+ seems more likely than T, I doubt that any Resident Evil or Dead Rising or other M-Rated characters will be included, for obvious reasons. And Mega Man would probably be a better "mascot" on the Capcom side than Ryu this time around.
With that in mind... here's my guess at a roster. 32 characters, with 8 unlockable.
CAPCOM
Mega Man
Mega Man
Roll
Proto Man
*MegaMan Volnutt
A good mix. You have Mega Man, a basic, long-ranged character. Roll, a faster, closer-range fighter. And Proto Man, who's slow-and-steady with that big fancy shield. Volnutt is unlockable because... why not?
Street Fighter
Ryu
Chun-Li
Abel
*Ken
Of course, you still need SOME Street Fighter, and the main pair seems like a good choice, along with Abel, who's a good grappler choice. Ken as an unlockable allows for... I dunno... Ken being unlockable, I guess.
Viewtiful Joe
Viewtiful Joe
*Sexy Silvia
A very cartoony choice that you could easily see meshing with Disney. Silvia's there because... why not?
Ace Attorney
Phoenix Wright
*Miles Edgeworth
Mostly because it's ridiculous and I love it. Phoenix is faster and more gung-ho, while Edgeworth is a more slow, methodical fighter.
Ghosts'n Goblins
Arthur
A very silly character to replace the more serious "zombie game" fighters, like Jill and Frank West.
Okami
Kuninushi & Chibiterasu
The main characters from the new DS sequel, I believe. Kuninushi will be the "main" fighter, using his wooden sword thingy, while Chibiterasu will aid him in attacks by painting damage and what have you.
Strider
Strider Hiryu
Ninja. That alone makes him the perfect choice
Captain Commando
Captain Commando
Because he's an ex-icon, a major character, and just plain awesome. You can't fight me on this because he's CAPTAIN COMMANDO!!!
DISNEY
Mickey Mouse
Mickey Mouse
Donald Duck
Goofy
*Scrooge McDuck
Mickey is a no brainer - probably a fencerish character with a needle and thread. Donald Duck and Goofy, I dunno, they'd come up something; Donald probably slow and strong, while Goofy is a big, lanky bumbler. Scrooge McDuck would be based on the DuckTales game they released back in the day that everyone loves.
Film Canon
Prince Phillip
Aladdin
The Beast
Mulan
*Robin Hood
A good mix of heroes, old and new. Phillip is the best possible "prince" as far as fighting goes, and the trio of Renaissance characters make for a good fast-slow-moderate team. I also wanted Hercules, but the Beast would be a cooler grappler, I think, and Mulan adds a lot of girl power.
Pixar
Buzz Lightyear
Mr. Incredible
Sci-fi lazers and such. Super strength. Nothing too fancy.
TV Animation
Goliath
Kim Possible
*Darkwing Duck
Goliath and Kim Possible are both recognizable-ish characters, while Darkwing would be based on the old Capcom game. Which was awesome, I believe.
Live-Action
Captain Jack Sparrow
"Pirate."
Other
*Jack Skellington
Because... why not? Skeletons are cool. He's have a pretty interesting moveset, too.
I think that's a good mix, honestly.

You have to have some lesser known and unique characters, as well. That's always been the best part of the Vs. series. Unexpected characters.
Also, as I said in the previous thread, I would make it closer to MvC1 with a two member team and a large list of assists that are used purely for assisting the main two characters. That way you could get a lot of characters that would probably not work in the game otherwise.
And Chip & Dale have to be the Servebot of the Disney side. :)

Yes this would be a great game. Hey isn't Capcom doing that "What VS game do you want next?" Well this will be my vote.
I think Meleficent would made a great "Huge scale boss" like from the Marvel vs Capcom games. Maybe even a two part boss.
I think it's an interesting idea....if they did it,I'd like to see characters from Gargoyles (Goliath and...well any of his Clan...or Elisa could work) and Kingdom Hearts (I'm pretty sure Disney owns the rights to the original characters in the series...or maybe they could work out a deal with Square Enix)....in addition to "classic" characters like Mickey,Donald, and Goofy, and movie characters like Jack (Skellington or Sparrow, they're both awesome...:anime:),Aladdin,and Mulan...
If Jetix shows are in, I think a good choice would be Chiro from Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go! It wouldn't be much of a hassle to come up with a move set, and the style of his show really fits the mood of the game.
Mickey could definitely be in his Fantasia version, summoning waves of water as his specials, as well as the magic brooms. Goofy could be his Sport Goofy persona, with specials using basketballs, pole jumping, stuff like that. Donald... I can't think of a good style, but if all else fails, they can always use his version from Kingdom Hearts. Scrooge would be awesome for sure.
From the movies I agree with Aladdin, The Beast, Robin Hood, Mulan, and Peter Pan as well.

It would be an awesome game. Maybe the best fighting game!
