Hey,

With the release of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance on home consoles today, I thought it'd be cool if we had an alliance of our own. There's no point making these difficult, so the choice is yours - any Marvel character, hero, villain, group, fight - anything you like, simply draw and post here.

When the time is right, we'll put all the images on the Drawing Board site somewhere.

Cool?

I fiddled around with a Spider-Man vs. Hulk sketch for a couple nights off and on but I never got past roughs on it.

This I did tonight as a warm-up sketch and I thought the rough turned out pretty well so I went ahead with it and fleshed it out.

I did a rough body outline first with each of the characters with a few lines to indicate the back of Ben Grimm's head and where Johnny's brow would be. That was in mechanical pencil. Then I just plowed over it with a 2B pencil. I usually do all the detail first in mechanical pencil but I wanted to get it done in one sitting so I went right in with the 2B.

I started it with Thing's pose, which is based on a panel from Mike Wieringo's Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four mini-series, just kinda drew it from a different camera angle. I didn't realize it til after but I think I was definatley channelling Pierre Alary's Human Torch from his own Spider-Man/Fantastic Four team-up story.

Thoughts?

This is a warm up sketch that I was doing to get a grasp on some of the FF characters, and I ended up liking it. I'm still trying to iron out some of the kinks in the lines, but this is pretty close to what the final image will look like. I give you Sue Storm.
