At the end of each ep, the credits roll.
In the creds they acknowledge the creators of Batman (Kane), Superman (Seigel & Schuster) , & Wonder Woman (sorry, don't know).
Why don't they acknowledge the creators of GL, Flash, MM, & Hawkgirl?
Is it because of estate laws? Such as the Kane family suing if Bob Kane isn't credited for his creation? Or does DC outright own the character rights & licenses to GL, Flash, etc... ust curious why Nodell isn't credited for creating the Green Lantern.
Who created the Hawk-family? And who created J'onn J'onzz, the Martian manhunter.
Also, can we expect to see the White Martians? Who & what are they? Is J'onn truly the last survivor of Mars? Or is there a subterranean faction?

we saw the white martians in Secret Origins-- and Jonn is the last
as for rights maybe it has to do with copywrites-- after a point in time the company owned the characters as opposed to their creators

But the Invaders weren't native to Mars, so they couldn't possible be the White Martian race.
What else does MM have to offer the JL as far as enemies go?
Also, besides fire, what else is J'onn vulnerable to? He was weakened on War World but why? What was in the atmosphere?

I asked this question to the board when the series began. The best possible reason is that the other characters are amalgam incarnations of the heroes, Flash, Hawkgirl, Green Lantern. They are not the original versions, like Jay Garrick (or Garrett) or Alan Scott respectively. They are newer versions which means, not only would you have to give credit to the original creators, which I think they should, you gotta give credit to whoever created Wally West, John Stewart and so forth.
Did they credit Aquaman, Flash, Dr. Fate, or Green Lantern back when in STAS? I can't remember. As for Jonn' Jonnz, I don't have a clue.

Creator credit primarily has to do w/pre-established legal deals that the creators have made with the publisher. The creators (or the estates of the creators) of Superman, Batman and WW have all made deals to have a creator credit appear whenever their character sees print in a comic book or appears in any other form of media (TV shows, novels, movies etc.).
The other creators simply never made those deals. The only other characters from any of the previous animated series that recieved a credit were Jack Kirby's New Gods characters from Superman.
But make no mistake, DC Comics owns every single one of those characters. You can probably count on two hands the number of characters that have appeared in the DC Universe that were owned solely by their creators and not by DC.

Howdy,
Just for the record, I believe most of the credit for the Silver Age versions of the Flash, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), and the Hawk-family goes to Gardner Fox. He was also the one who created the original Justice League of America.
I think I remember the intro to the Hawkman Archives saying that Gardner Fox also wrote the original Hawkman comics in the Golden Age, too. I get the sense that if you have to ask where any Silver Age character came from, you can guess Gardner Fox and have a better-than-even chance of being right.
