I saw a commercial for Gamer where the narration went "The last time Gerald Butler kicked this much ass was 300 years ago."

Funny, I don't remember him doing any action films taking place in the early 17th century.;)

The Revenge of the Sith commercial with the line "Sith Happens!"

Good God. Who comes up with this stuff?

Not as bad as those, but I remember that the early spots for District 9 played it like some sort of dark comedy film.

There are actually people who are paid to literally sit around and come up with taglines and nothing else.

No, they aren't apart of a large marketing department and this isn't one of their jobs. This is their entire and only job.

How easy could that job be? You would think with all the money and time being given to them to come up with a clever and memorable tagline there would never be terrible ones such as "Sith Happens"
