SPOILERS FOR THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!! SPOILERS I SAY!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess, though Flash is never called by his real name, that he is Wally West based on his reckless actions and such. But in tonight's ep, they showed a little of his origin, but it wasn't Wally's it was Barry Allen's. True Wally got hit a with the cems and lightning the same as Barry, but Wally was just a kid and the person who got hit in the scene was wearing a white lab coat liked he worked there.

Oh well, they mushed Jason Todds origin and named him Tim Drake, maybe they thought to do the same with Barry and Wally.

i think its safe to assume there is no barry in this universe

my question is whether he works for Central City PD or not

and like barry, does he not blur the lines between wally and flash? is he really a slowpoke as a civilian? :)

Maybe Wally was an intern.

On the cartoon network JL site, for the flash's real name, they have wally west. So this flash is definitly wally west

Nothing New
the writers/producers have altered many origin stories, usually for the better: Freeze, Toyman, Hatter, Riddler, Brainiac

Plus, they're trying to make things work for a television audience. Also, they're creating their OWN line of continuity, which is much easier to follow than the DCU. Face it, the majority of people are never going to be in the know of DCU continuity. So why not let the writers create something that the television audience can follow w/o having to buy cliffnotes.

Accept what we've got
Wally West is OUR Flash.
John Stewart is OUR GL.
And we have Hawkgirl instead of Hawkman.

They may or may not address the Barry Allen issue. Won't bother me if they don't. And sooner or later they'll give us a backstory on Kyle Rayner. So chill out GL buffs. Maybe Kyle became the Spectre or Parallax of the animated DCU. To be determined. I wouldn't expect any Hal Jordan so get over it.

So if they used Allen's origin, will they mention Mrs. Allen and how he unwittingly revealed his secret to her (he talked in his sleep)? Or will they nix that aspect of it to (a) further the no secret identities rule and (b) keep Flash that funloving wisecracking bachelor type with no attachments we all know and love?

Let's face it, no one wants to be in the know of the DCU. With the Crisis on Infinite Earth's crap, and then that Zero Hour mess, the comics never really seem to recover.

If the JL site says it is Wally, I am inclined to believe them. Besides, his personality is closer to Wally's than Barry's.

My guess is that Wally was a scientist, and is now a full-time superhero, but his alter-ego isn't a secret. If it was, I think that he would have freaked out when he discovered that the cops nabbed him. And the cops would almost certainly have unmasked him.

I wonder where he is set up now? It looked like the police cars had the Metropolis "M" on them. I know that it was clear he was from Central City, but I have to wonder if he's working in Central, Keystone or Metropolis now. Maybe he was just visiting Metropolis.

Maybe I need to stop being an obsessive fanboy.

No, actually you're onto something there.
I'm guessing we're to assume Flash & GL are on duty in Central City.
But how about "In Blackest Night"? Was John visiting Coast City, Metropolis, ???

They should come up w/ a distinct look for Coast City & Central City. By now we all recognize Metropolis. I hope Gotham City maintains it's signature profile, particualrly the architecture. I believe they will because that museum where the Bat interrogated Professor Urlich sure looked Gotham-esque.

Spoiler Question: does anyone know if they're keeping the Gotham night sky red, like TNBA, or purple, like in BB, or black/navy, like BTAS.

Actually, I'm pretty sure they were in Metropolis for some reason. The police cars seemed to be the Metropolis squad cars from STAS and from "Secret Origins". The only reference to Central City was in the weird dream sequence.

When are they going to Gotham? In the Batman ep? Which one is that?

Sorry for all the questions
