Wiztober returns for the second year with a new Halloween and wizard-themed programming lineup hosted by the stars of the Emmy-nominated hit series "Wizards of Waverly Place" -- Selena Gomez, David Henrie, Jake T. "Wiz-tober" kicks off with a special encore presentation of "Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie" on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT), leading into an entire month of magic-filled movies, including the popular Disney Channel Original Movies "Halloweentown" and "Twitches" (and their sequels), and two installments from the popular "Harry Potter" feature film series, among others. The month also delivers the premiere of a brand new Halloween-themed episode of Disney Channel's "JONAS" and spooky episodes of "The Suite Life On Deck" and "Wizards of Waverly Place."

Beginning Wednesday, September 16, kids can log on to DisneyChannel.com and get printable instructions for "Call in Your Haunt," where fans can record their own spooky haunted house sound effects. Select entries can be heard online in the Wizards of Waverly Place Haunted House, and will air on Disney Channel during the programming event.
Following the premiere episode of the new season of "Wizards of Waverly Place," new episodes will air Friday nights throughout October. In the new season, Alex's best friend, Harper, moves in with the Russos. Meanwhile, Alex pursues her dream of becoming an artist and designs her own art studio inside a miniature dollhouse. Justin, in his last year of high school, plans to savor every senior year moment and to try his hand at monster hunting, and Max hones his wizard skills and becomes a serious contender in the Russo kids' quest to become the sole heir of the family's wizard powers.

The schedule is as follows:

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9 (8:00 – 8:30 p.m., ET/PT)

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16 (8:00 – 8:30 p.m., ET/PT)
· "Halloween" -- After the Russos are told by the Waverly Place Merchants’ Association that their haunted house has never been scary enough in Halloweens past, the family comes together to create the scariest haunted house ever.

These sound fun. With this and the "Wizards vs Vampires" 3-parter, it's nice to see the show embracing its supernatural theme.

Wow I can't wait for that two part episode. Justin mastering his tenth thousand spell is impressive.

Awesome! I like that they're doing more multiple-part stories. I thought the Wizards vs. Vampires block would be the only time. It's also nice to see recurring characters, um. recur. Some more.

Don't you mean 4-parter?

I think he's referring to how the fourth part hardly had anything to do with the first three except that Juliet was in it. [shrug]

[EDIT] Beaten, and I guess he wasn't referring to that, LoL.

Where's the 2-part episode your talking about?

So Moises Arias is guest staring. It sounds like he's playing a different character though. Kinda weird since Wizards is in the same universe as Hannah. Granted, it's nothing new for a person to play more than one character, but usually it's an old guest star that ends up playing a main character, not the other way around.

"Monster Hunter" and "Three Monsters" appear to be related to each other.

OH I see, they aren't playing back-to-back to each other though. That's understandable though since there aren't that many episodes filmed yet.

Yeah, they're separated by a week. The Wizards-Vampires episodes were aired like that, too, except the fourth one was aired just a day after the third. There was a week between the first, second and third, though.

I prefer it when they stick to a one-episode-per-week schedule. It's just more normal and it hopefully results in fewer times when they air just one new episode a month to stretch things out.

I prefrer the old way of Disney airing episode back in 2006 when HM came out when there was about 4 episodes aired in a row then went to 2 episode a month airing, which went through a season in about 1 year.

I'm kind of wondering what Disney will do with the 4th season of HM when airing the episodes.

If they start the season 3 months after they start filming (Starts filming Jan. 2010) there won't be that many episode produced about 5 or 6.

Disney could barely air a month worth of new episodes like they're doing with the new seasons of JONAS, SLOD, Wizards. That's 4 episodes aired and about 1 or 2 before a wait on new episodes.

*Sorry for the subject change, it was on my mind.*
