....you type a reply or a message of some sort, put a good amount of thought into it, then try to post it, only to get the "server too busy" screen. Then you go back on your browser to try to get back to your message, only to be told the server is too busy! And no matter how much you try, your message that you typed got lost in cyber space some where. Friggin annoying, I might add, after a dozen times or so.

Never happened to me. When I use the "back" on my browser, I get the screen with my message on it. I think maybe because my browser memorizes screens and stores it in a temporary file folder.

It's done both for me. There are times it will go back to my message, but other times it just keeps on going to the server too busy screen.

It shouldn't happen for too much longer. Harl plans to buiy more memory. Just put up with it a bit more.

Yeah, heck maybe Toonzone didn't know what they were gettin when they signed the WF, cuz of the traffic huh? Yeah the occasional "busy signals" are bad, but it makes ya kinda proud doesn't it. lol :)

But that's why ever since I started posting on DG's board, I'd make a copy of my post JUST in case. Why? Well at the time this computer was possibly crappier than it is now, PLUS I was on a dial up. So whenever my sister wanted to use the phone, all she had to do was pick it up, hit a few buttons and I'd lose my connection, AND whatever I was posting/typing!

Thank the lord those dial up times are long gone for me.

I occasionally save my text before I press send, but everytime the browser will save the text if I get a 'server too busy' message. But hopefully all of this will be ancient history come a few weeks...

yeah i hate when i try to reply to a post and it gives me that crap server is busy

What's that "we all aren't updated like you" comment supposed to mean, JustWhelmed? And yes it does suck when it happened, but the webmasters didn't anticipate the boards being so busy and popular. These boards took up more space and memory then they could've anticipated, and therefore experienced server problems. You have to realize how much hard work the webmasters are putting into this site and boards. They are spending their own money to make this place better, quicker, and more fun. The least you could do is respect that and wait until they get things smoothed out.

If you get that message, just wait a few minutes. I'm sure that's not too troubling for all of you. Just be thankful the boards aren't going down when the server gets busy.

Yea, verily, where two or three are gathered together on the WF message boards, then shall the server be too busy. . .

It is annoying, but I just try to avoid peak hours.

Well, I just wanted to say I appreciate all the time and work the mods and the webmaster put into the boards.

But I don't think anyone is really complaining in this thread--mostly just letting off steam.
