THE STORY: Ultimate Spider-Man artist Stuart Immonen rejoins series regular Brian Bendis for this all-new blockbuster Avengers Dark Reign story.
One of the Hood's gang has found a way to power drain the New Avengers and it turns the tides of the Dark Reign in ways no one would have expected it. Plus the new Sorcerer Supreme has a lot to learn, and they're going to learn it from...Spider-Man?

Whoops, completely forgot to update this thread last week...

THE STORY: A very important Dark Reign issue!
Oh man, it is not a good day for the New Avengers. Someone has invented a power disrupter and unleashed it in New York City. The heroes have fallen. Some are hurt bad, others near death.
Who will rise to the challenge and save the day? Something big happens. Not going to tell you what it is but it happens on page 17, panel 4.

So which page exactly is page 17? I counted and checked the fourth panels on a couple of consecutive pages, but can't really see anything that qualifies as "big"...
I'm liking this story arc so far though! The idea of being able to strip anyone - even the Sentry[!!] - of their powers is interesting, especially when it is used against both heroes and villains. Mockingbird had a really nice offense against that guy [I can't for the life of me remember what his supervillain name is] and it was endearing watching the powerless [New] Avengers try to fight a battle they couldn't win. What's up with Luke Cage's heart though? I can't recall him having heart problems like Tony Stark and can't find anything on Wikipedia about it either. Judging from next month's cover, it factors into the story more than just for the few panels this issue.
So, I wonder how these "Stones of Norn" will affect The Hood. Will he be stronger than he was with Dormammu? Less crazy? Less evil maybe? I'm eager to find out :)

THE STORY: A Dark Reign tie-in!
It was bound to happen and now it has. The Hood loses his grip on the colorful criminals that make his empire. It's a super-villain turf war and guess who is stuck in the middle?
That's right... the powerless New Avengers. Not to mention the powerless Dark Avengers (who guest star, btw.) Who will replace the Hood as kingpin of criminals??
Thoughts? What are your comments?
I'm so confused about The Hood. He lost his connection with Dormammu in "Marvel Zombies 3" and Dormammu bonded with someone else in those pages. In the pages of "New Avengers" he was defeated by the combined efforts of said Avengers, Dr. Strange and the new Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Voodoo - which appeared to have left him powerless. And then over in his own mini-series, "Dark Reign: The Hood", he wanted to stop bonding with Dormammu by losing the cloak, but ultimately found out that they had bonded so strongly that the cloak wasn't necessary anymore to access his demonic powers.
And in this issue, he appears to be powerless and acquiring new powers through the "Stones of Norn". I guess this whole puzzle can be put together as it just seems that the parts are out of order... darn titles conflicting with each other's timelines...
Now, the rest of the story? It was an okay read, but not much really happened. The set-up for the next issue was the most interesting, with Luke Cage needing to be operated on to fix his condition, but that being impossible due to him having unbreakable skin. Heh. But where has his sudden heart condition come from?? Does his character have a history with it?
The story arc concludes!

THE STORY: A Dark Reign tie-in!
The Hood's control over his turf is challenged. Big time. And you won't believe by who. And you won't believe where the Hood is getting his newfound powers from.
A big status quo change for the power brokers of the Marvel Universe. Guest-starring the Cabal. All that and guess which Avengers hook up this issue. And by hook up...we mean ' hook up'.
