View Full Version : Who is your favorite Disney Princess?

That includes Mulan (I found a similar thread from 2004 that excluded Mulan), Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Tiana (The Princess and the Frog), Rapunzel (Rapunzel) and any other princess featured in Disney animation even if she's not considered a "Disney Princess".

My favorite Disney Princess is Mulan. She's such a bad-ass - she defeated an entire Hun army single-handedly! What did Snow White do? She cleaned a house. I've heard accusations that the movie Mulan is sexist because Mulan has to disguise herself as a man, but that's how it was in China at the time. And at the end of the film, everyone knows she's a woman but when she defeated the Hun leader (can't recall his name at the moment), she was honored by the Emperor himself and everyone in the Imperial City bowed down to her as a sign of respect.

My second favorite would be Ariel. Sure, she chases after a man and completely changes her life to win him over, but she has one hell of a voice (you know, when Ursula doesn't have it.)

For me, it's a toss-up between Snow White and Belle. I like Snow's innocence and playfulness, especially with Grumpy. And I like the way Belle stood up to the Beast. As for the rest of the princesses, I can take them or leave them alone. I was a tomboy as a kid and had little use for princesses in general.

I am going to say Ariel just because she's a mermaid.

I like Jasmin and Belle.

edit;

I also like Ariel though, she's second favorite.

For me it's a toss-up between Mulan and Belle, because these are the two that I relate to the most, Belle because I love reading and always dreamt of going on an adventure of some sort. Mulan because I'm kind of a tomboy and don't need a man in my life to be happy. I'm also like Mulan because I don't like going with the crowd and am basically looked down upon because of it with my peers, but, like Mulan...okay, that's it, I'm going with Mulan. (Don't hold me to that, I change prefrences and personalities easily.)

I hope anyone counts Princess Calla from Gummi Bears as a Disney Princess, even if she's not.

Ariel, Belle, and Jasmine for me. Especially Ariel and Jasmine...see the Nostalgia Critic's thoughts on the matter and you pretty much get my view. I love Mulan too, but I just can't count her as a princess.

Belle technically isn't a princess...at least until she marries the Beast at the end of the film.

EDIT: Ditto Mulan, minus the marriage.

Since she's included in their "Princess" line-up,(though not technically a princess)...Mulan...She's smart, brave, grows to become a great fighter, and proves to all of China that it doesn't matter if a warrior is male or female...

I also like Ariel...She's a curious dreamer, but has a distinct lack of common sense when it comes to romance with the human Prince Eric...I can't help but root for her anyway, though, since she comes off as being a nice,if naive girl, plus, she sings really well...

Mulan's not a princess. Not even in the source material. She doesn't count. With rest you can kinda stretch it, but not with her.

Now, on the subject of the actual topic- while I do love Ariel, I have to give my vote to Princess Kida.

... someone please tell me they remember that movie.

Atlantis, right? I've only seen it once, and that was a few years ago. I don't remember having any problems with it. I did enjoy their journey to Atlantis though. The drills and stuff. And there was a character who ran the drill, and he resembled a mole or something...

Mulan might not be a princess really, but she is part of the Disney Princess line, so she counts.

I was trying to sum up why Ariel is my favorite, and you probably said it best. :)

Man, I'd almost forgotten about her. I've only seen Atlantis once, but really really enjoyed it and wished it had done better in theaters, to lead to more Disney movies like it.

Mulan isn't really a princess but Disney says so anyway and Tiana shouldn't be a part of this since her movie hasn't been released yet.

My favorite princess is Jasmine since she's adventurous, nice, compassionate, understanding and cute too.

Jasmine.
Because she's hot.

Ariel, definitley. The Little Mermaid is one of the only movies I can think of where the princess lead actually outshines - or, at least, shines as bright as - the rest of the cast.

Jasmine.
Because she's hot.

Yeah, this is basically how I feel too.

I'm not a fan of the Disney princesses. Not really my kind of characters. I was always more of a fan of the villains and comic sidekicks. My only criteria when comparing princess characters is attractiveness, since nothing else about them appeals to me. So yeah, Jasmine. Followed by Ariel.

But they're just cartoons. So while they're attractive that's just about all they are, so don't get any ideas, people. :p

I was wondering if we're judging them in terms of character or in terms of attractiveness, because as a guy, I tend to view them in terms of hotness first, as I generally prefer the funny characters in terms of personality.

So going by that, my favorite Disney Princesses are Aurora (aka Sleeping Beauty or Briar Rose, whichever you prefer) and Pocohantas, followed closely by Ariel.

What I've seen of Tiana (The Princess and the Frog) looks promising, but I'll hold off any opinions on her until after the movie comes out.

Does Kairi count? Because in Kingdom Hearts she was treated as one of disney's princess. If not Ariel cuz shes a hot mermaid.

I'm saying Kim Possible. I yes I realize that she's not a princess, and that's the point. Girls don't have to be "princesses." Kim Possible is great because she shows girls that they don't have to be the ones getting rescued all the time, they can also be the rescuer.

But if I have to name a princess, I guess I'll go with Ariel.

I'm starting to see a lot of this on Toon Zone. What's wrong with going by what the thread asks?

I have trouble deciding... i think i might have to go with Mulan
But it's hard to commit to it since it's been so long since i've seen most disney movies

Sometimes the line gets blurred... like how Kingdom hearts tells us that Alice is considered a "Princess". One can only wonder why they didn't just use Ariel :p

My favorite is Belle. She is very selfless and very determined. She is not one of those princesses that except everyone to do everything for her, she is not spoiled. She (along with Mulan and Pocahontas) is probably one of the strongest Disney princesses ever.

I also used to like Ariel a lot, but her naivety just really set me off, so I choose Belle.

Yes ABrown, The Hunchback of Notre Dame is a great movie and you should definitely see it as soon as you can but don't be mad at Esmeralda for a certain choice she makes in the movie. That's all I can say without spoiling it. ;)

And wikipedia says that Demi Moore did her voice. If that's true, I'm definitely gonna have to see it!

My favorite will always be Mulan because she didn't go off to find herself a man or love. She became a soilder to protect her father from being killed in the war. And at the end of the movie, she didn't even get married or have that 'true love's kiss' moment at the end.
