Since very few people respond to the Goode Family talkbacks, I'd figure it'd be easier to just do a series talkback instead. Here's tonight's episode.
The show airs Fridays at 8:30 PM eastern.

To be honest, I haven't even given any thought to watching this. It's not that I think it's a bad show, it's that I rarely watch any of the broadcast networks (with the exception of Fox Sundays). I guess I might contribute to the possible cancellation due to low ratings. Oops. (This is were I would have put the embarrassment smiley, but I couldn't find it.)

I finally got to catch up on the first seven episodes this week and I really liked it. Can't wait to see any other episodes when they air.

I know Mike Judge is involved here, but this screams out someone taking a plot from an episode of King of the Hill, and just decided to tweak it.

I've read a bunch of critics getting their panties in a twist, because apparently environmentalists are "above parody."
Give me a break.
This show definitely gives off a KotH vibe. I find it pretty enjoyable.

If the show is reminiscent of King Of The Hill, it's amazing that ABC decided not to pick up King.

I can see why this show isn't very popular. I mean, the joke with Che not being fed meat by the Goodes has been beaten to death and it wasn't funny to begin with. I'm starting to get annoyed with how utterly clueless the Goodes are. I mean, how could they not notice that he never eats his vegan dog food? I mean, don't they wonder why there's always a full bowl of dog food in his dish? You would think that after they saw Che eat meat in this episode that they would come to the conclusion that he wants to eat meat, but something tells me they'll be back to starving him next week.
I also kind of found it a little weird how Bliss acted just like the other members of the family in this episode when in prior episodes she was portrayed as the normal one. I guess she believes in some of her parents' philosophies but not others? Still, it would be nice if there was at least one voice of reason in the family.

I liked how all three subplots tie together.

I don't find this show funny at all, but I continue to watch just to stare at Bliss' stomach. Seriously, she has to have one of the hottest animated stomachs in the history of animation. Do vegans in real life have such good looking stomachs?

What exactly is "a public radio"?
Still, I laughed a couple of times at the episode. Still not King of the Hill good, but not bad.

Great episode. Best scene was when Ubuntu told off his dream girl after misinterpreting Bliss' advice. Also, Bliss and her crush's relationship was handled well.

I haven't even gave the show a chance because it's on Friday nights. That's when I'm watching WWE. The show has a bad time slot IMO. Plus, it's on a network that I don't even watch. Now I really want to watch this show. I guess I'm going to wait for the DVDs to come out.

What an easy way to get unbanned. I got to try that someday :D
I'm surprised Bliss got away with lying about her age in the end. Usually in sitcoms they get caught eventually, but not this time.
So we now know that Ray is a Vietnam war veteran.

I was hoping that Ubuntu was going to smash that security guard's head. I really wanted to see that guy get his comeuppance. But, I guess sometimes life just isn't fair.

That was the only funny Goode Family I've seen yet. Twas as good as KOTH, even with a Helen-centric plot. It's too bad no one will ever see this episode.

Yeah, Fridays really aren't good at all. I've missed quite a few episodes of this show just by forgetting.

Even if there was a chance, Mike Judge is pretty much bored with animation now and wants to branch out into live action.

Well, we're at the final stretch. ABC will air the remaining two episode of the season tonight. Actually, judging by the ratings, I'd say these will be the last two episodes period.
However, it won't air back to back. An episode of "According to Jim" will air inbetween the two new "Goode Family" episodes.
"Gerald's Way or the Highway"
Written by Jace Richdale - Directed by Seth Kearsley
Trying to inspire his children, Gerald adopts a highway to show that one person can make a difference.
This will air 8:30 pm e/p. Then According to Jim will air, which is then followed by...
"A Goode Man is Hard to Find"
Written by Dave Jeser & Matt Silverstein - Directed by Jennifer Coyle
Gerald thinks Trish and Mo (guest stars Julia Sweeney, Laraine Newman) want him as the sperm donor for their next child.
Which will air 9:30pm e/p.
No, I have no idea why ABC is airing them like this.

However, I do find it rather sad that ABC greenlit this thing only to bury it in the summer. Why not just reject it?

"Gerald's Way or the Highway"
This episode was fantastic. The misunderstanding with the soda bottles was really funny and the ending was great. And I loved how Gerald's calm attitude unintentionally scared the bloodthirsty criminals.
And I got a good laugh out of this exchange:
-Helen: "Gerald, they're Nazis!"
-Gerald: "Oh, you say that about everyone you don't like"
-Helen: "Yes, but this time they really ARE Nazis!"
"A Goode Man is Hard to Find"
I didn't like this one as much as the last episode. But it gets extra points for having Charlie in it. :D
I really hope this isn't the last episode, but I have a feeling that it is. :( Its a shame; this is one of the very few shows that I really care about watching. The writing and characters are pretty strong for a first season and I think it could have easily become as good as King of the Hill.

"Gerald's Way is the Highway" was a great episode! It had some serious KotH humor with that dinner scene.
Unfortunately, even my DirecTV guide doesn't think this show will survive. It listed "A Goode Man is Hard to Find" as the Series Finale instead of Season Finale...

If the last episode was a series finale, at least it doesn't leave us hanging.
It was an okay show. I saw every episode and it wasn't a waste of my time, but I'd take King of the Hill over this any day.

Well, this wasn't unexpected. It's now been confirmed (http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news.aspx?id=8246)that "The Goode Family" is canceled.
I'll give ABC credit for one thing: they actually aired all the completed episodes. Can't say the same for other unsuccessful prime-time cartoons.

Yes, Bliss's hips were my sole reason for watching all of these episodes.
Though I must say, the first episode that aired yesterday was the first time that I'vve actually laughed at an episode. The scene with Gerald serving the nazis vegan stew and them being scared of Gerald was hilarious.
By the way, what was with that cartoony effect when Bliss ran away from her ex's new girlfriend? That seemed kind of out of place. You'd never see something like that on King of the Hill.

That effect was actually used in other episodes (I remember seeing it in "Helen's Back", "Public Disturbance", and maybe one or two other episodes.)
Yeah, I thought it was out of place in a show like this, too.

*sigh* I wish I could say I'm looking forward to the DVD. But we probably won't be seeing one anytime soon if King of the Hill's treatment is any indication. :(
Why the heck would ABC even bother greenlighting this show if they were just going to bury it in a bad timeslot, not advertise it, and then let it die a slow death in the summer? I don't get it.
