Capcom is adding a number of their PS1 and PSP games to the PSN store, including RE 2 and 3. I had nearly broken down and paid $30 for them on Gamecube, too, probably would have if I could have found them complete at Gamestop.

We're also getting Dino Crisis, Darkstalkers and a few others, plus a lot of Capcom classics in a collection. The classics might not mean much to those who, like I, have the classics collections already released for PS2 and PSP, but the Playstation rereleases are kind of a big deal. I wish they had given more concrete dates, though.

This is what Kotaku says will be in Capcom Classics Collection Remixed, which comes out today:

1941: Counter Attack
• Avengers
• Bionic Commando
• Black Tiger
• Block Block
• Captain Commando
• Final Fight
• Forgotten Worlds
• Last Duel
• Legendary Wings
• Magic Sword
• Mega Twins
• Quiz and Dragons
• Section Z
• Side Arms: Hyper Dyne
• The Speed Rumbler
• Street Fighter
• Strider
• Three Wonders
• Varth

Then later in the year, there'll be this mix of PS1 and PSP re-releases:
• Mega Man Powered Up
• Dino Crisis
• Power Stone Collection
• Mega Man Maverick Hunter X
• Resident Evil 2
• Darkstalkers
• Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max
• Resident Evil 3: Nemesis
• Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded

I might get 2 and 3 again anyway, since the sound's so screwed up on my GameCube editions for some reason.

I've been getting around to playing the Claire A/Leon B, still don't know what they're saying half the time...

I want to try out Dino Crisis and will definitely be getting Power Stone and SFA 3

oh my god Capcom you make me so happy

That's a great list, though I was hoping they would also add Breath of Fire III and IV.

Here's hoping some of these find their way to Xbox Live Arcade.

Not likely. RE2, RE3, and Dino Crisis are all PSone games, and the rest are PSP games being re-released on the Playstation Store as a part of the UMD Legacy/we-need-more-UMD-games-available-on-the-Store-to-justify-the-PSPgo strategy.

Either way, pending the price, Powered Up and Maverick Hunter X are going to be obtained through here because I can't find them used at Gamestop. Same thing with Darkstalkers and Power Stone since I've never played them (no Dreamcast in the case for Power Stone) or never cared until recently (Darkstalkers).

Now, can we get a release date for Fate/unlimited Codes?

It's not completely impossible, though. Castlevania: Symphony of The Night was a PSone game and it was on Live. I know it had a Saturn Version and all but the version on Live was the Playstation version.

Point being? It's not like Sony owns the rights to Resident Evil. They couldn't stop Capcom from putting them up on XBLA. RE2 was also on the Dreamcast, N64, and GameCube. RE3 was also on the Dreamcast and GameCube.

Forgot about Symphony of the Night. Sorry about that. But, porting a game to XBLA won't be as simple as it is on the Playstation systems that can run PS1 hardware. If Capcom ever wants to port them to XBLA, they would have to farm it out to Backbone (who did the SOTN port for XBLA and are working with the Dreamcast code of Marvel VS Capcom 2 to get it to XBLA/PSN) and have them figure it out. Not impossible (see KOF and Garou from fighting game rival SNK Playmore), and Capcom has proven to be extremely greedy (see Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil). However, I wouldn't expect a port of the past Resident Evils (or Dino Crisis) until after the end of the year - if it happens at all.

Don't forget The Misadventures of Tron Bonne, which makes 3 games in the MM Legends Universe Capcom should release.

I think Capcom was supposed to have released both MM Powered Up and MM Maverick Hunter X on the digital store a while back (I think it was the same time as MM9 news last summer), but it's nice to finally see they are going to release it in digital format. Now, if only they could release a Powered Up sequel that lets you create your own MM2 levels...

MM games tend to fail on Sony systems.... It makes you wonder why Capcom keeps insisting in releasing MM games on Sony platforms....

I wish we could have more Powered Up and Maverick Hunter remakes :(

I don't see Rival Schools in that list.

Capcom, release some of your obscure games please. I've already got like 3 copies of Street Fighter Alpha 3.

Also, some Virtual console news! (http://vc.nintendolife.com/news/2009/07/the_oflc_rates_more_capcom_and_sega_classics_for_virtual_console)

Final Fight 2 is on it's way... Finally. I can't wait for 3. :D

Mega Man X5 and X6 are kind of obvious - the Saturn was gone, and the N64 was far too behind to catch up. Plus, it was easier to reuse assets created from X4 for those games.

I guess you're suggesting make it Nintendo exclusive, but that IMO makes little sense because why should Capcom make anything of theirs exclusive when there's potential for selling it on another system, even if they sell less copies. MM9 might have originally been created for WiiWare, but that didn't stop Capcom USA from releasing it for XBLA and PSN, did it? And even if it was less than what WiiWare sales were, making some money off additional sales is better than making zero money off it, right?.
