Since the movie airs in less than 6 hours now, I thought I'd get this thread rolling. So who's planning to watch this tonight?

The Sonny With A Chance marathon is a bit overkill since everyone's seen every episode like more than once. Who can take that much of Demi Lovato? Plus we know what will end off the marathon and it has to deal with the movie's two stars. If we get a better trailer for the Wizards of Waverly Place movie, then I'll watch the film.

Any thoughts about the movie? To me, this film must've bored me or didn't look interesting because I was around for the first couple of minutes up to where Princess Rosalina meets up with Carter and then just turned the TV off. Too much of Team Demi-Selena is a bit much for me even if the film did have Chi-Chi (Jamie Chung) as the Queen of Mean.

For a more lengthy review, let's turn towards UltimateDisney.com and see the early review of the film's Extended Edition DVD.

It was too ambitious for a Disney Channel movie. The idea of a Princess escaping during a take over of her country sounds epic on paper, but Disney spent like a $100 on it. Had there been a better budget it could have been alright.

That's so sad. I always thought of Disney as a company that didn't have to worry about a budget. But from what I've been seeing and just heard from you, that's no longer the case. :(

I guess the movie wasn't THAT bad... it was alright. Obviously Demi was the better actress though, I have to admit. Although Selena is hotter. :D

Not to be rude but do you know how old she is? I don't even find any of the ladies attractive unless they were close to my age.

I really thought the whole film was just 'meh'-worthy. Sure it'll repeat tonight and Sunday night but there's nothing really special about the film at all.

Oh well forget the ages and how attractive the leads are/were to the 9-12 year old crowd and let's just talk about what went right/wrong in the plot of this film.

They should of just put Selena in the role of the princess. Selena doesnt pull off the whole tomboyish look at all, not to mention she looks more latin then Demi. I dont get why she keeps playing these "loser/insercure High school girl" roles. I mean (A she doesnt look like one and B) she cant act to save her life. Anyways, that was a pretty bad movie, even for DC original movies. There usually good for a decent hour and half but meh.....

How come every time a character says "princess", the word "PRINCESS" pops up?

That's STUPID!

They're doing a contest for tonight's broadcast, where the viewer has to count how many times the words "princess," "princesses" and "princesa" are used in the movie to unlock a new episode of Sonny With a Chance and Wizards of Waverly Place at Disney's site.

This has to be as silly than the Re-Animated sweepstakes when you could call up CN to win some cash if you watched the film. Now what's the point of unlocking all of these new episodes. Both shows aren't that great so really anyone could wait until later this year to see them without this unlocking mess. If the characters had to say the word "princess" that darn much in the film, then thescript must've been really, really thin.

My sister did the "counting game" and unlocked an episode of Wizard's where the families business is having customer's stolen by vampires. I kid you not.

As long as none of them sparkle, that seems like a decent plot.

The movie was just meh.

I have to admit though, Demi's acting was better here than in her own show. The action bits were okay, but nothing really special here.

Yup. Only Old Guy's little sister entered the contest and no one else.

Actually I can see how the word "princess" could pop up quite a few times in this movie. It's like a movie with ghosts, do you really think they'd only say ghost 3 or 4 times?

Sparkle? Is that a Twilight reference I'm not getting because I've yet to see it?

Demi was the better actress though

Demi's acting was better here than in her own show.

Demi has a fascinating acting style. Her entire approach is to make as many dumb faces as possible.

Sparkle? Is that a Twilight reference

Yes.
