Sweet flying Jesus on a pogostick: I FINALLY BEAT IT!

I've been playing for the past half week, following the walkthrough by the letter and finally beating the entire game. I've played this game when I was just a lad and could never beat this game when I first got it, because basically back then I was an idiot kid who ran away from every random battle when its crucial TO FIGHT EVERY SINGLE LAST ONE. I wanted to do so on my PS2, however the thing is literally about 7 years old now and it can barely play PS1 games anymore, so I settled for the ePSXe emulator (Slowdown or no slowdown) Overall, I'm satisfied, but also saddened a bit by the ending. (Saved stated on my emulator before the 4 choices and looked at them all.)

You're once again back in Rim Elm, and its all happy happy happy with the mist being gone. Overall the choices are for you to go out either on your own, or with your love interest Mei. However there's a choice to fall for Noa, who so happened to have left without saying goodbye with her reborn brother in hand. That probably what made me sad, Noa going off on her own... Anyways It basically all the same in the end. I, of course, chose for Mei to tag along in the end since it seemed like the correct ending.

This may be a very overlooked game, but I definitely remember when it first came out. Even the commercial on TV: where the mist is all over and everyone in a neighborhood is wearing gas masks to protect themselves from it. I see this one as a Gem... a very hard gem if not played a certain way, but a very precious Gem that is good all around. If you don't know what game I'm talking about then look on Youtube and you may be intrigued.

Yeah, I remember playing and beating that one when it first came out. And I remember liking it, in some ways, a little more than Final Fantasy VII. But that's just because I'm weird.

I've had the PS2 sequel for years but I haven't played it yet.

An older cousin had bought the game when it first came out. When I visited him I saw the fight against the giant plant monster, Berserker. The unique combat and the great boss music was enough to convince me that I needed this game.

When I got it I probably spent more time on it than Final Fantasy VII. Then I somehow mangled the CD and after that the PlayStation would freeze the game when I fought a certain boss.

Thankfully years later I was lucky enough to have my busted copy work on the PS2. Sadly, I haven't beaten the game yet after all this time. I always stop because the last quarter of the game kind of depresses me.
