I thought this was hilarious. You know all those celebrities who have jumped on the Wii bandwagon and love to talk about it to prove how hip and trendy they are? Not this one, he hates the damn thing.

http://kotaku.com/5299140/shia-labeouf-totally-hates-the-wii (BD) Have you checked out the Wii Transformers game?
(SL) I haven't been able to play the Wii game because my hand is broken. I've just been playing Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. I would imagine that the Wii experience will be like...I don't mess with the Wii, to be honest with you. It's kind of an amateur console. I'm not into the Wii thing.
(BD)What's wrong with the Wii?
(SL)This is how in a simple way you can find out if it's a gamer you want to play with. Ask them if they have a Wii. If they say yes, get the (exlpetive) out of there.
He later follows that up with "Who wants to play the Wii version of LEGO Star Wars. I'd rather eat glass.". Even though the Wii version is, well, for all intents and purposes identical to the other ones.

You ever seen that tabloid feature Stars, They're Just Like Us that shows stars in candid moments drinking soda or pulling their underwear out of their butts or whatever. They should do one with Shia playing his PS360 setup with the caption "They console fanboy."

I wonder what VG forums Shia trolls...

Edit: crap, I spelled LaBeouf wrong, I know it.

I refuse to take him seriously until he says WHY he doesn't like the Wii (and there ARE legitimate reasons to dislike the system). For now, it's just fanboy bashing in a blatant attempt to look cool by rejecting what's popular.

Who? If someone's going to insult a console, at least have a name people have heard of.

He doesn't have a reason. That's the beauty of it. He's a straight up fanboy.

Edit: Also, I don't think that Shia really needs to bash the Wii to make himself look or feel cool. He can fall back on his good looks, hit movies, millions of dollars, superhot girlfriends, expensive clothes and luxury cars for that. I think he said what he said because he's just that big an a-hole.

He's the guy from Transformers 2, by the way, which'll probably be the biggest movie in the country when it opens. So either you're kidding by pretending not to recognize him or you've been hiding in a cave.

The question I have now is the same question I had when I first saw this article on Kotaku; who the hell cares what Shia LeBeouf has to say about the Wii?

I really think there are better things video game fans could be spending their time on.

He's the kid from Even Stevens, and every director in Hollywood loves casting him in every role for some reason.

He also says "nonononono" at least once per movie.

Actually, it is a hard name to match a face to.

I thought it was a Tyra Banks-type model at first, but then a quick Google search showed me that it was the Transformers kid.

I will be getting a Wii eventually. Good ol' Gamecube 2!

Holding all my precious survival horror remakes in your waggle box...you clever little $250 cheshire-puss. >>

People could just fire back and say that Shia shouldn't have been in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Seriously, what is he trying to prove with his grandstanding? Maybe Shia should take a time out and understand that if companies don't improve the way we play games, it could mean another collapse of the industry!

He's probably just upset because he tried doing WiiFit and had trouble standing on one leg for some of the exercises. :p

LaBouef: actor, rising star, fanboy.

Funny though, I do something really similar. This is how in a simple way you can find out if it person you want to go to the movies with. Ask them if they like Shia Labouef. If they say yes, get the (explicit) out of there. ;)

I know. I'd rather hear what Beans has to say about it.

If you said that, Dark Fact, Shia would just start talking about Natal.

I bet he's just bitter because a Wii turned into a robot and attacked him. :p

Amateur huh Witwicky? I got three words for you... No More Heroes.

My respect for Shia went up a few points... and I don't like that.

Seriously, what is he trying to prove with his grandstanding? Maybe Shia should take a time out and understand that if companies don't improve the way we play games, it could mean another collapse of the industry! I've yet to see a game be improved by adding waggle, in fact, most games tend to get poorer reception due to the waggle. It's no unsurprising that some people don't like that Wii. The casual fascination hasn't really helped the industry much.. it's only helped the casual developers.

My respect for Shia went up a few points... and I don't like that. So you respect someone that bashes something else without giving a reason? I've yet to see a game be improved by adding waggle, in fact, most games tend to get poorer reception due to the waggle. It's no unsurprising that some people don't like that Wii. The casual fascination hasn't really helped the industry much.. it's only helped the casual developers. Super Mario Galaxy made a great use of the waggle. Felt completely natural to execute and I can't imagine playing without it.

I'm sure you know games like Boom Blox could never be done the same on another system. Then there's games like No More Heroes that use several Wii only features, and apparently that Tiger Woods game is quite a brilliant little game (not that I'd know, I don't play those games)... And while obviously nothing can touch a mouse and keyboard in this area, FPS games are extremely fun to play with the Wiimote.

I think I'm getting a bit sick of 'hardcore' gamers trying to undermine the Wii's success, just like I'm getting sick of Wii owners ignoring everything the PS360 consoles are offering.

I'm sorry, but I really don't see how this thread is going to foster any useful discussion, other than the usual Wii debates that are already becoming extremely redundant.

It's an amusing news tidbit for sure, but that's about it.
