Howdy!

I have a problem with a picture that I have looked into fixing, but can't find a satisfactory solution.

There is WAY too much blue in this picture and I want to get rid of it:

I played with it like crazy and got a fairly good result, but when it printed, it had some annoying flaws. Changing the color balance by adding more red helped the picture a bit overall, but did almost nothing to get rid of that blue.

Can someone help me figure out how to fix it? Thanks. :)

You probably already figured this out, but this is what I get when playing with the 'hue and Saturation' sliders.

Hope this helps, and if not, it's a cute cat! :D

I seem to have missed that fix. That's a huge difference! I'm gonna try that, along with a few other tweaks. Thanks, pally! :)

I kinda forgot about this little project of mine. Heh...

Anyway, it's done!

I brightened her right eye and got the color of the other one to look more natural. I first desaturated the blues and cyans, then boosted the overall pic to enhance the oranges, then desaturated the blues and cyans again. Also applied some slight sharpening. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

What I didn't say before is that this is my mother's last cat. Unfortunately, she literally went crazy and had to be put down, as she was becoming a danger to herself and others. This usually only occured at night or whenever she saw herself in any reflective surface. She'd hiss and growl as if she was fighting another cat. She started swatting my mother if she got too close, too. It was scary. She was such a sweet cat and used to lay like that all the time. We called her Supergirl, but her real name was Minuet. :)

I printed out an 8"x11" of the original version for my mother, but I plan to have this one done to replace it.
