Wow, just wow. I can see why Encore played Secret of N.I.M.H. 2 this morning. It had to be a sign of the impending future...and it came.
Well we all know that we have to say good-bye to the voice of Itchy from All Dogs Go to Heaven and Jeremy from the first Secret of N.I.M.H.

Aw, there goes a memorable presence in movies and especially animated work. =(
RIP dear sir.
You're right about that. Anyone remember All Dogs Go to Heaven: The Series, which played on ABC Saturday morning in the late 1990's? He played Charlie's sidekick, just like in the movies. In the cartoon show, Dom DeLuise's co-stars included Steven Weber, BeBe Neuwirth, Ernest Borgnine, Charles Nelson Reilly and Sheena Easton. Dom will be reunited with Charles, whom by the way was his co-star in Cannonball Run 2. At least we still have Dom's sons, Michael, Peter and David, to continue acting in movies and TV. Rest in Peace, Dom.

This is one of the few celeb deaths I have to admit I'm quite sad to hear about, I loved Dom DeLuise's work. In fact, even in a bad movie I always enjoyed him. He just couldn't be brought down even if everyone else was lacking. I'll truly miss seeing him randomly pop up and bring instant comedic splendor.

I just found this out a few moments ago.:crying: I enjoyed all his work from his guest appearance in The Muppet Movie to playing as Itchy in All Dogs Go to Heaven to playing Pizza The Hutt to having a bit part in a Duck Dodgers episode. He was a fantastic actor & VA!!!:crying::crying::crying:
Oh, I wonder if anybody remembers his movie Hot Stuff that he directed? It might not have been good, but I still enjoy it. I want it on DVD!:crying:
One last thing, my late mom met him once at Coney Island Hospital when she was a nurse. He was visiting his mother at the time.:)
Good-bye, Dom. I'll never forget you!!!:crying::crying::crying:

Oh yeah and don't forget he was also Tiger in An American Tail.
I certainly won't. He was perhaps one of my favorite animated characters of all time. Mr. Dom DeLuise will be sorely missed.

Damn, another voice actor legend bites the dust..
I mean you want a voice actor who could make a character come alive with fun? You didn't have to look far when Dom Deluise got behind the VA Mike..
I think I'll best remember him as Tiger in An American Tail and An American Tail: Fievel Goes West. (Between Dom and Jimmy Stewart as Wyatt Burp that movie was a masterwork..)
But Dom also did his comedy onscreen as well. I mean from Cannonball Run, To Smokey and the Bandit II (As the veternarian) to Pizza the Hut (in Spaceballs). Dom had this enigmatic flair for the Comeidic.
And then there was his cullinary skills.. I Mean you want to see a guy love to cook? Dom was a natural and in fact he wrote two cookbooks and would serve up meals that would be cullinary delights (I bet Chowder is even crying tonight).
But then again Dom was a Family man and his children Peter, Michael, and David are the New Generation of actors and Comedians..
But they will never live up to 'the Old man'.
After all Dom was full of life, and probably up to the end he enjoyed every moment of it.
So hats off to a great actor, comedian and cook, for tonight we mourn his loss.
Farewell Domminick, we will Miss your laughter..

Damn, another voice actor legend bites the dust.
Is he really a voice acting legend? He's likely to be remembered more for his Mel Brooks movies. I mean, who can forget the gay director in Blazing Saddles, the over-weight assistant in Silent Movie, Pizza the Hut in Spaceballs, and the Don Corleone character in Robin Hood: Men in Tights? Just to name a few.

Not a week after we lose Bea Arthur, now Dom DeLuise is taken away. I really enjoyed him the Mel Brooks films as well as The Cannonball Run and scads of others.
R.I.P., Dom DeLuise. You will be missed.

What a shame, I wish I knew more about him. Goodbye Jeremy.
Funny comic and enjoyed him in whatever he was in. May he rest in peace. :(
As tribute, The Cannonball Run, my favorite movie starring him, will be the first DVD I watch on my 360 while it's hooked up to a HDMI cable. The cable is hooked up to a 50-inch plasma.
Also, I watched The Robot Chicken Cannonball Run and the Outtakes clip between Burt and Dom on Adult Swim's website.

I was speechless when I first found out that Dom DeLuise has passed away. This is truly a sad day for Hollywood, as this is the loss of one of it's funniest actors. He was a part of my childhood, mainly from watching American Tail, Oliver & Company, All Dogs Go To Heaven, A Troll In Central Park, etc. Surprised nobody mentioned his role as Koos in Dexter's Lab. Also, as I got older I got to watch and appreciate some of his more older and adult movies such as History Of The World Part I, Space Balls, and Silent Movie. RIP Dom DeLuise, you had a voice time will not forget nor could anyone replicate.

I'm really sad to hear this, I loved Dom's work. I grew up listening to his voice as Tiger an the American Tail movies and All Dogs Goes to Heaven. I then enoyed his work very much in the Mel Brook's movies. Even if it was a small role, Dom made it a memorable one. RIP Dom

Heh. I remember Dom for his voice acting roles, as well as a guest appearance in The Munsters.
I've never actually watched a Mel Brooks film.

Tell me that it's not who I think it is. I just don't good ol' Doc Brown to leave us but that's better saved for anther thread/personal opinion.
I didn't know Mr. DeLuise had so many fans but he is one who will truly be missed for how he brought smiles to the ones who loved him.

I just heard about this last night and I couldn't believe it. I had just watch Oliver and Company on Tuesday morning too, which made this news more surprising and tragic. I also thought that he was somewhere around his fifties.
I loved his work on animated movies like All Dogs Go to Heaven, An American Tail, The Secrets of NIMH and Oliver and Company the most. I didn't see too many of his live-action roles except for one movie that I can't remember and a couple of guest roles.
This is quite sad to hear and I hope that he is at total peace and happiness now. I also hope that his friends and family will be able to pull through this emotionally hard time for them. Rest in peace, Dom DeLuise. You will be missed and remembered.

RIP; Mr. Evictus!
I'm surprised no one has mentioned his cartoon voice of Mr. Evictus, the landlord of the Venus DeMilo Arms. He always tried to evict the Holiday family (Augustus, Laurie, Happy, Precosia & Brutus the Lion) for anything, on the 1972-73 NBC series, The Roman Holidays.

Well, The Roman Holidays only ran for a single season, and it wasn't all that popular; it's actually pretty obscure. Most people under 30 have probably never even heard of it, let alone seen it.
But that's not meant to lessen the work of Mr. DeLuise. He was a truly funny and talented performer, and he will be deeply missed. :crying:

Big Up! Big Up! To the Man!!!
The first Dom Deluise movie I saw in theaters when I was eight years old was a sad drama called "Fatso." He was really good in it.
I used to remember Dom when he put on that Captain Chaos costume in the Cannonball Run movies and got into all sorts of trouble with Burt Reynolds in that film.
There will never be another actor like him. And Michael, Peter, and David Deluise still have a long ways to go before they can top their dad. He was a comic genius and family man all in one. I'm gonna miss you, and go on, fly, fat boy, fly up in the sky!

Very true, Kenny. The DeLuise brothers have a long ways to go before they can top their legendary dad, but eventually, they'll come close.
