Gundam 00 Second Season will begin airing on Sci-Fi's (soon to be SyFy) Ani-Monday beginning Monday, June 29 at 11PM.
I really enjoyed the first season and can't wait to see the rest of the series.

In June! Sweet! I didn't think the dub would be ready that early.

Let's hope the same problems with Geass doesn't affect the Second Season's run.

Woohoo! Awesome. Good catch.
Same month as the first DVD's too. Nice timing.

Um... so, not catching the first season's ("bang head on desk") not really going to cause much is it? (I know it'll be quite confusing for a bit...) I'm pretty much walking into this like I am with Gundam Seed. (I've yet to see Gundam Seed, but I'm currently watching Gundam Seed Destiny.)

Eh, you'll be missing a truckload of context and a lot of good entertainment if you skip season one. Fortunately, you have a way (http://www.youtube.com/show?p=kvW6LeINCdU) to see it. :) All 25 episodes are legally available on youtube.

Yeah, I was kind of hoping to get a repeat of the 1st season on sci-fi before they aired season 2, but seeing how that's not happening I was gonna watch (record... Hey, I like my VHS tapes XD) season 2 first and then hope for a season 1 repeat.... someday :(.
I do appreciate the link to other sites and all (Gundam, Code Geass references.. I think that was here.), but the problem is timing. At the moment I don't have the time to really watch anything online. With me being sleep in the day and school at night.... (Wednesday and Thursday off :), but still, homework.... :() I do have a 2 week vacation coming up though. Hopefully I can do something around that time.
You wouldn't happen to know if they're on dvd by any chance?

The first DVD release is June 16, which will basically cover a third of the first season. There's no release dates beyond that just yet.

Unlike majority of you, I don't own a laptop, and I share this computer with 2 other folks, so you tell me. Stop trying to make a big deal out of nothing. Jeez...
Thanks GW.

For anyone who watched the final season 1 episode only on Sci-Fi, I HIGHLY suggest you watch this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQuWob7MgvQ#t=20m34s). It's a specific part of the final episode that was cut out of the broadcast that is very important as it sets up a bunch of things related to season 2.
I had it pegged for the summer to begin with, but I'm glad it was confirmed officially. Can't wait to see it all again in English.

So is anybody else really concerned that SciFi is going to butcher the editing on practically every single episode? Every episode has scenes after the credits like in season 1's finale.. and the editing was not exactly stellar.
(I've yet to see Gundam Seed, but I'm currently watching Gundam Seed Destiny.)
Are you watching the series or the compilation movies?

The series. Wait, there's compilation movies? Err... Side story(ies)?

Compilations are just abridged versions of the series in 3 movies. With some minor (or in this case, MAJOR) edits, it's otherwise the same thing.

I doubt they would lop off an entire portion of an episode everytime like that. It happened in the season one finale because lots of other important/cool stuff was going down and they didn't have time for the season two preview stuff.

its good to see this on sci fi actually. I just caught the first season (thanks youtube) and part of me is anticipating the second season and part of me isn't. I want to see what the pilots are doing without celestial being, but I also want to see some loose ends tied like Louise and others stories.
Is it bad to actually prefer some of the side characters than the main characters? I found myself enjoying them more...and one more thing

For those of you complaning about the edits. Don't worry after it airs on Sci Fi, they will probably put these episodes up on You Tube unedited.
If you want, you can just skip the Sci Fi, and wait for Bandai to put them up on You Tube legally of course.

As I've said before, they should just cut the opening if they have to. They will probably settle for edits, but that's what they should do.
Cutting the little epilogues would be a problem. Some are basically teasers for the next episode that get repeated, but some aren't...so cutting them would be troublesome unless Ani-Monday suddenly pays enough attention to detail to be selective about it.

Very cool. I'm looking forward to seeing how the dub cast handles the 4 year time skip and everything.

Oh wow, this is coming quicker than I thought.
(I was sure that Sci-Fi...er...Syfy would just bail on us and not show it for some reason)

Saying 'They'll put the episodes online' unedited isn't really a resolution because some people will only watch the TV version for whatever reason. So any problems or plot holes that emerge from bad edits on Sci-Fi's part could lose the show the all important audience it needs. They already cut out important but subtle moments in season one and season two has the rather unfortunate circumstance of being paced as Cold opening>Op>Majority of episode>ED>Final moments/lead in for the following episode. To say nothing of episode 50, which I can't see working at all well when cut. That's an episode that uses every minute it has much like episode 25, playing the credits over the ongoing epilogue.

I'm just glad that Gundam is replacing Gurren Lagann and not Rave Master.

As far as the summer premiere, it doesn't surprise me that they are debuting it in June, basically when Gurren Lagann ends, but I did think they would show season 1 again before going into season 2.

Well, Japan didn't need a recap showing.
Then again, Japan had the DVDs by the time the second season started

Hmm...good, although the quality doesn't seem as good as the free youtube shows format...maybe it is if you're a member and can see it on top quality?

Odds are very high, I figure, that it has had better ratings than the 51-episode Rave Master...
There's also the chance they'll decide to stop having Ani-Monday only half A-list, with 00 and Gurren Lagann on at the same time...I'm a bit mixed, it'd do well but I'd also like to see the block expand and live by reruns alone. There are so many shows that deserve to be on more than Rave.

I have to be honest: I'm giving it a chance, but last week made me want to turn the television off. It's a drag on the block and one of the lesser hackdubs I've seen, useful more as a case study on how far anime dubs have come than it is entertainment so far.

Well, yeah. I think the core three voices are okay but everybody else just sounds stupid and the writing/forced jokes are awful. The only reason I'm even able to tolerate it is because the main characters voices are...just okay (Sieg Hart's is good too) but I'm not exactly watching it every week, you know?

Rave Master is not a re-run. That requires more than one showing, and at that point I would be strangling chickens right now.

Techinaclly not, I guess the proper term would be Re-broadcast. Since Toonami Aired Rave Master A few Years back. I mean there not new eps, there just new to sci-fi wich I gues makes them re-premires????:p:sweat:

Yay more Soma and Nena :D
Still, I have some reservations about the second season. I rather enjoyed the whole setup. But with an Earth Federation, I'm worried that they going to drag the story down.
